**COVID BOOKING NOTE**

From August to December 2020 the owner will be letting this house on a reduced occupancy due to the current guidelines on groups staying together under the one roof.  The owner will need to know how many households the group consists of and if any of those households are a ‘bubble household’, in addition to the locations all guests will be travelling from.  The owner will provide guests with a bedrooms description document, advise about the layout and help you decide who goes where and make room labels if required.  Once the bedrooms have been assigned these are the beds that will be made up.  All remaining beds not in use will not be made available under the reduced occupancy discount terms.  Guests will receive an e-mail from the owner a few days before arrival asking them to confirm they don’t have Covid symptoms or have been asked to isolate or are coming from an area affected by a local lockdown. The group booker will be responsible for disclosing this information to the owner on behalf of all guests. The owner thanks all guests for their patience and understanding during these difficult times.

The owner is offering a 40% discount on any available date from now up to (but not including) the Christmas week 2020 for groups of 6.

  • Reception Rooms
There are lots of communal areas from the grand drawing room to the more informal table tennis room so plenty of space for your group to spread out.  There are five reception rooms in all, a drawing room, library, snooker room, table tennis room and atrium. High ceilings and large windows were a feature of Victorian homes and you’ll not be disappointed here. The décor is as you would expect in a stately home of this nature and is ornate yet comfortable.

There are also plenty of additional w.c's (4 in total) on the ground floor.  One located near the library, one by the dining room and two on the lower ground floor.

    Kitchen & Dining
The kitchen is large, with a central dining table comfortably seating 14 for breakfast or perhaps children’s high tea. To make catering for a large number easier, there are two range cookers (an AGA and an electric range) and professional dishwashers and catering can be arranged for a special meal or the whole stay if required. Leading off the kitchen is a laundry room and various store rooms, so plenty of space to store your provisions.

Butlers pantries are usually located in transitional spaces between kitchens and dining rooms and used as staging areas for serving meals. Guests find the butler’s pantry extremely useful particularly when serving out and clearing away meals or making cocktails! It’s stocked with assorted glassware and a hot cupboard for keeping meals warm. There’s also a service room with an industrial glass washer and dishwasher to give those in the family normally designated for the washing up a holiday too!

As far as storing meat etc. goes, there's a big walk in fridge as well as a drinks fridge and upright freezer. So plenty of storage for large groups! The owners can also supply an outdoor gas BBQ for guests on request.

The large dining room has floor to ceiling sash windows overlooking the garden, providing ample light during the day. Its antique mahogany table comfortably seats up to 18 guests – this number can be increased to 28 by extending the table at both ends.  More intimate meals can be taken around the large country pine dining table in the kitchen which can seat up to 12. Perfect for breakfasts and children’s supper.

  • There are 14 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms accommodating groups of up to 28. The owners’ key goal is guest comfort so they provide plenty of heating and hot water for large groups and in each room guests are supplied with a dressing gown.

Direct contact with family and their staff made it so easy to check information. Extremely helpful and every detail had been thought about.
The house is a beautiful elegant mansion set in spacious grounds. While it is an old building it has all mod cons to provide a very comfortable stay.
As a large family group with ages ranging from 1 year old to 70 year old, everyone had a lovely time with plenty indoor and out door activities to keep everyone occupied. Would certainly recommend this accommodation, and hope to return .

Thanks for your considered feedback I'm sure others will find it really useful when deciding if this is the right holiday home for their three generational family get together

Very helpful staff, returned information promptly, could not have been more helpful.
