We rented the house for the weekend to celebrate my Dad's 80th Birthday, we needed somewhere large enough to accomodate extended family and a bit special for the 'big day'.We were not disappointed!. It has the grandeur of a large country home but was also very homely. For those looking for 5* decor then this place is probably not for you as some parts could do with a little updating, but for us it just added to the charm of an old house. Our family group had a large variation in ages and there was something for everyone. Brilliant house for hide n' seek for the kids!!. And enough sitting rooms to suit all old and young alike. The gardens were beautiful during our stay ... a stroll through the bluebells are a must! The kitchen had everything we needed although the electric hob took a bit of getting used to!! and the dining room in the entrance hall perfect for sharing dinner and good chat. We had a memorable weekend and my Dad got to be lord of the Manor which he loved. Would recommend.

Scott Castle holidays site is really easy to use and all the girls I communicated with via email were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions/emails. Would recommend this site if you are looking for that 'something special' for us it was my Dad's 80th birthday.

Very spacy castle with more than enough rooms for a party of 8, well equipped kitchen and beautiful suurounding. Coming home by driving through the rhododendron alley is more than impressive.

We agree, this impressive highland house is very spacious with extensive grounds, and the cosy drawing room with open fire is perfect to relax in after a day out sightseeing!

Brilliant space and in a beautiful location. Easy family comfort and great charm. Needs some refurbishment of the beds. Hot water supply outstanding. We loved it.

WoW, I could almost leave it there! We travelled for my hubbies 40th with a huge party of friends as a surprise for him. The house was indeed a surprise, so big and beautiful, we fell in love with it, and the amazing grounds that helped us walk off some very sore heads :) Regal and imposing and full of so many rooms inside we were still discovering them 3 days into our stay! The house is very comfortable, not stuffy and you felt you could totally relax and not worry about getting crumbs on the floor. Oozing with character and I don't mind telling you a little spooky at times all added to the adventure we shared there. Amazing family kitchen, larder and local supermarkets deliver. Polly from the house took our huge shopping in and set it out as we were on the train from london, nothing was too much trouble. If you are thinking of going then do, I want to go back again, but perhaps live there :) Thanks ***

(i) There was a boiler malfunction which resulted in no hot water for the showers in a few bedrooms
(ii) Surprisingly at this time of year there was a number of mice about - we had to get a trap for one in the kitchen

Very old Aga loses heat quickly and is not ideal for a party of 15, the small electric ovens saved the day but they are small and the handle of the top oven has been broken for some time I suspect. The house was otherwise ideal for a business weekend.

With regards to cooking facilities at the house, they do adopt the belt and braces attitude, and have the AGA and the electric hobs available to all guests. The house is a very atmospheric large house with a lot of original features.
Although the bathrooms are not all latest design everyone found a shower which was suitable.

Very good service - eg quick response to any e-mail queries. Only thing we didn't like was the charge for using a credit card, in particular, for the good housekeeping deposit.
