Description

About the property

This stunning, detached house is set in the quaint town of Rothesay on the beautiful Isle of Bute.

Situated in a lovely hilltop location, the property enjoys glorious sea views and a large flourishing garden.

The traditional interior has been lovingly refurbished to provide a welcoming accommodation for families and friends looking to explore this remote part of Scotland.

Hearty feasts can easily be prepared in the kitchen, equipped with several integrated appliances, whilst the dining area provides ample seating so everyone can gather during mealtimes.

There are two sitting rooms here, one of which has a TV, whilst both enjoy fabulous views of the sea and the passing boats.

The rest of the ground floor is occupied by a utility with washer/dryer, a shower room and a twin room for added flexibility.

Move upstairs to discover the four bedrooms, including two doubles and a twin, all of which are beautifully furnished and served by the family bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.

Outside are magnificent gardens to explore and plenty of nearby walks through the woodlands and towards the coast.

Just a mile away is the main island town of Rothesay and where you will find castle ruins, a harbour and a selection of shops, not to mention Mount Stuart House, which is a very popular attraction.

To the North of Rothesay, through the small community of Port Bannatyne, lies Ettrick Bay, a lovely beach which is easily accessible and safe for swimming.

If you wish to explore more of Scotland, then catch a ferry across to Glasgow and make use of the fabulous attractions and amenities.

A quality accommodation on this unspoilt Scottish island.

About the location

ROTHESAY, ISLE OF BUTE

Port Bannatyne 2.2 miles; Kilchattan Bay 7 miles

Although its castle dates from the 13th Century, the seaside town of Rothesay became very popular as a tourist destination in the Victorian era when many Glaswegians would go ‘doon the watter’ (down the River Clyde) and across on the ferry to Bute. Today there is much to do and see on this beautiful island which is very accessible by ferry crossing, either the 35 minute trip from Wemyss Bay or else the shorter 5 minute crossing to the north of the island from Colintraive. Visit the castle ruins in the centre of town, enjoy the stunning scenery with coastal walks or on one of the cycle routes around the island and visit historic Mount Stuart House as well as its superb gardens. Why not try one of the island’s three golf courses or chill out at Scalpsie Bay and watch the seals, with stunning views across to Arran?
