The charming Georgian town of Holt is the ideal base to tour North Norfolk and and the countryside around it. Holt is a unique market town boasting a large selection of interesting shops, art galleries and antique emporiums. It is a great place for eating out, with a good selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs both in the town and surrounding villages. It has a large country park with over 200 acres of heath and woodland, ideal for walkers, dogs and nature lovers. The town is close to the coastal villages of Cley, Blakeney and Salthouse all of which are excellent centres for bird watching. For sandy beaches and traditional seaside towns, both Sheringham and Cromer fit the bill perfectly.
