Visit King Arthur Country and discover the dark ages of Cornwall! Tintagel Castle is a great family day out. The fascinating ruins are accessed via a pass up on to the headland offering dramatic views of the coastline and you can explore Merlins Cave at low tide down on Tintagel beach.

Tintagel high street has many shops and cafes, and a weekly market is held throughout the summer (on a Thursday), ideal for picking up holiday gifts and local produce. Pop by the National Trust ‘Tintagel Post Office’, where you can step back in time with their medieval collections and relax with a Cornish cream tea in the cottage garden. There is also a small souvenir shop.

The King Arthur Halls are located in the heart of the village, and within the visitor centre is a ‘throne room’ which has featured in many films and TV productions with over 70 stained glass windows depicting the various Arthurian legends.

The Big dunks paintball centre has 9 game zones and is perfect to get the family together for an active and competitive day out. The market town of Camelford is just over 5 miles away and has a small selection of shops and places to eat. There is golf available locally at Bowood Park.
