A bustling seaside resort perfect for the idyllic beach holiday, with plenty of family activities and over 7 miles of sandy beaches.
Fistral beach is one of the world’s top surfing destinations. There are surfing schools and board hire available direct from the beach and a small selection of cafes nearby. Down on the Towan Promenade, overlooking the beach is the Blue Reef Aquarium housing a range of local and exotic species. Just a short walk from the town centre is Newquay Zoo, a fantastic day out with over 130 rare animals and themed trails. A maze, a gift shop and café are also available on site.
The zoo is located within Trenance gardens, which includes swimming pool facilities and a fitness centre in ‘Waterworld’. There is also a skate park, miniature railway, crazy golf and riding stables. Rowing and pedal boats are available to hire, and there is a lakeside café.
Other great days out locally include the Screech Owl Sanctuary and the Lappa Valley Steam Railway. A National Trust house open to the public, Trerice Elizabethan Manor has a café facility and gardens. Dairyland Farm World is a great all weather attraction, there is a large indoor play area, nature trail, pony rides and many more family friendly activities.
