Other local beaches include Crooklets, Widemouth Bay and Sandymouth Beach all are popular with surfers, beachcombers and rock pool enthusiasts alike.
Perched above the town, the North Cornwall Golf Club has stunning views out to sea and the challenging 18 hole links course is available all year round. For those seeking an exciting day out, the Adventure International offers a range of activities such as abseiling, caving and dragon boating.
There are plenty of Cornish Castles to explore locally including Tintagel and Launceston Castles, also Penhallam Manor which has a complete ground plan of a moated 13th Century Manor House.
