Uckfield Large Holiday Homes

Located just on the south edge of the High Weald AONB and with Ashdown Forest on the door step, the market town of Uckfield is ideal for a quiet countryside get away or a walking holiday. The nearby forest is a mix of woodland and heath, and points of interest including Wilderness Wood, the Enchanted Place and the famous Pooh Bridge. The Bluebell Railway makes for a great family day out with plenty of fun events to choose from such as seaside weekends, vintage displays and food festivals. From this line you can reach Sheffield Park which has over 250 acres of gardens to explore, with play trails and den building areas for the younger ones.

Another wonderfully preserved steam railway nearby is The Lavender Line with a small museum and model railway also on site. Just a short drive from the town is the Bentley Motor Museum, which has a large collection of cars and motorcycles, along with lots of outdoor activities for children. The Wildfowl reserve is home to many rare species, and there are woodland walks, a craft barn and a miniature railway.

The restored Nutley Windmill is an impressive local landmark and just on the edge of Sheffield Park is Spring Farm where alpaca walking can be pre booked. Heaven Farm has a rural life museum, bluebell nature trail and stable tea rooms.
