Deal Large Holiday Homes

Deal is a pretty seaside town full of independent shops and traditional pubs, with three weekly markets of seasonal food and local produce. Points of interest around the town include the Timeball Tower, Maritime Museum and the historic pier which offers sea angling. From May – September the Memorial Bandstand has free music concerts on a Sunday afternoon. There are cycle routes along the coast past the old coal mines along to Ringwould, a great chance in take in the sea views and spot rare birds.

With a rich history of smuggling this town is also home to two castles which were originally part of the coastal artillery defence. Walmer Castle has 8 acres of formal gardens and woodland, with cannons lined up along the battlements out to sea. Visitors to Deal Castle can explore the bastions and tour the captain’s residence and officer quarters. Another lovely spot to visit are the community gardens at the site of the Sandown Castle ruins.

Betteshanger Country Park has a mix of marsh and woodlands, with established tracks for cycling or walking, and bike hire available. Plenty of local golf courses to choose and just a short drive down the coast are the famous white cliffs of Dover.
