Comfortable Holiday Home, Gower

Barcud Lodge is a large detached, architect-designed, modern house which nestles in the popular village of Llangennith. This is the perfect family and friend's homestay whatever the season.

The tastefully appointed living space is on the first floor which creates a contemporary modern feel and allows you to take full advantage of the beautiful views of the bay. The Lodge is only a mile from the popular Llangennith beach and just a stone's throw away from the local pub 'The King's Head' which serves traditional home cooked food and offers a genuine, warm welcome.

Accommodation
A large stone entrance porch (4 steps) leads into the spacious reception hall. The master bedroom has an en suite with step-in shower cubicle, and a further 2 double bedrooms and a twin bedroom.

The family bathroom has a bath with a separate shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC.

1st Floor: The galleried dining area is located in a central position on the first floor and has an oak dining table and chairs for 10 and access to the main light filled lounge, through double oak doors.

The lounge has a large picture window with spectacular views, and a feature stone fireplace, a three-piece leather suite and TV, DVD and CD players.

The dining area also leads to the kitchen and breakfast room with oak carpentry, granite work tops and integrated appliances including an under-the-counter fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a 4-ring hob with oven below; the kitchen also includes a microwave. There is a breakfast bar and 4 stools. The spacious utility room includes a tumble dryer, washing machine and second fridge. Separate WC.

External: There is a gated large driveway with ample parking, with use of part of the garage for storage of bikes/surfboards etc. There is a rear lawned garden which has outdoor furniture for 8 people. Charcoal barbecue in the garage.

Although smaller in size than other regions of Wales, this area still has a great selection of historical sites to visit and rolling countryside with a dramatic coastline. Perhaps best known for the impressive Brecon Beacons, this mountain range is very popular for those seeking an activity holiday with something to suit all, from mountain biking and caving to horse riding and star gazing events. The Vale of Glamorgan is worth a visit, with a 9 mile heritage coastal path not to mention the famous Barry Island with its vibrant amusement park which is all only a few miles from Cardiff.

Not just an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Wye Valley and the Vale of Usk combined can also boast having the most castles per square mile in Britain. In recognition of its revolutionary importance the Blaenavon Industrial Landscape is now a World Heritage Site and has a fascinating collection of ironworks, mines and a national museum.

Cardiff is perfect for a day of shopping and sight-seeing. The varied choice of entertainment ranges from live music venues, guided tours and art events. For a peaceful walk or nature spotting trip then the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal is a beautiful and isolated place to unwind.
