Description

Situated in the village of Rhiw between Abersoch and Aberdaron on the Lleyn Peninsula, this beautiful five bedroom luxury cottage with spectacular sea views overlooks the six miles of sands of Porth Neigwl (Hell's Mouth). The period holiday cottage welcomes dogs and stands in its own gardens of a third of an acre. A Hot Tub is also now available!

The Property is believed to date back to the 1600s and may have originally been the village Chapel. Newer parts were added in 1837 and again in 2009. It is now a superb contemporary luxury holiday cottage combining the best of old and new. The cottage is beautifully presented in every aspect and really does provide an ideal home from home.

The Property has been designed to offer a high standard of modern living and so provides very spacious and light accommodation. The property is ideal for large groups with two sitting rooms and a large kitchen and dining area. The ground floor living areas are on a number of different levels, linked by sets of irregular stone steps. The main sitting room boasts a cathedral vaulted ceiling, log burning stove, armchairs and sofas, CD player, 40" flatscreen TV with HD receiver and BT Infinity/WiFi, DVD/video, stereo CD player with iPod dock. French doors lead to the gardens and offer views across Mynydd Rhiw. The second sitting room has a large woodburning stove, sofas and chairs and a 65" flatscreen HD TV. French doors open onto the veranda and slate terrace with spectacular views for over 40 miles towards Porth Neigwl, Cardigan Bay and the Snowdonia mountain range.

The Property has a huge flagged kitchen/diner with Aga style range and large dining table - forming the heart of the house - with slate flooring and granite worksurfaces, an 'Aga' style range, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave, American style fridge/freezer, stone fireplace with wood-burner and a refectory table and chair to seat 12. There is an additional utility/boot room with washing machine, tumble dryer, WC, basin and ample drying space and a separate shower room useful for getting rid of sand.

The luxury cottage comprises five bedrooms sleeping 10 people plus two cots. There are also two single folding beds, which can also be made up in two of the bedrooms if required so the house can sleep 12 guests plus two babies. The master bedroom is accessed via stairs up from the lounge to a minstrels' gallery with double doors leading to the lovely spacious room with super kingsize bed, stunning views over the bay and a well-appointed ensuite shower room with a large walk-in shower, WC and basin. There are a further three bedrooms and a bathroom accessed via stairs leading from the dining area - a pretty kingsize bedroom with vaulted ceiling and fantastic views across the bay, a double bedroom, a twin room with vaulted ceiling, bay views and optional folding bed and a newly fitted bathroom with rolltop bath, separate shower, WC and basin. The fifth bedroom is on the ground floor and has full-size bunk beds and an optional folding single bed.

The Property is set in large enclosed gardens on a hillside. It has dry stone walls and a few drops - such as from the lawn onto the rear terrace - so children and dogs should be supervised. The house has a terrace with garden furniture at the front to take in the breathtaking views across the sea and a ten seater dining table on the sheltered rear terrace with stone outdoor fireplace/barbecue, and a Hot Tub. There is ample off-road parking for up to four cars and a boat.

Families only; not suitable for those with mobility issues

Up to 2 dogs welcome by arrangement.

Electricity and heating included. Guests are requested to provide their own logs and coal for the stove and fire - available from the village and they also deliver (details in the house).

Bed linen and towels provided.

2 travel cots, high chairs and stairgates available.

Strictly no smoking please.
