Cosy Big Cottage, Pwllheli

Gorwel ('horizon') is aptly named given the panoramic views towards Cardigan Bay from the cottage and its gardens. This very attractive and well maintained detached luxury coastal holiday cottage is presented to a beautiful standard throughout. Located on a no-through-road in the village of Abererch near Abersoch and Pwllheli on the stunning Lleyn Peninsula, the cottage sleeps 8 guests in 4 good size bedrooms and sits in two acres of grounds with panoramic coastal views. Delightfully traditional but with all mod cons including full central heating, underfloor heating and WiFi, the stone long cottage also has the added luxury of a private hot tub jacuzzi set on a generous decking area with stunning views across Cardigan Bay to Abersoch and the islands.

Gorwel is all arranged on a single level although there are a few steps inside. The large lounge is a very attractive and welcoming room with high vaulted ceiling, Welsh dresser, leather armchairs and sofas, CD radio, flatscreen SMART TV, DVD, library and a log burning stove with plentiful log supply. An attractive window seat offers wonderful views over Cardigan Bay and patio French doors lead to a garden terrace with more views. The large dining room has a table and chairs to seat 8. The kitchen is newly fitted with oak units and quality appliances including electric cooker, gas hob, extractor fan, large fridge/freezer, microwave, filter coffee machine, dishwasher; breakfast table and chairs for 4 and a stable door into the garden. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. The main bedroom has a king size bed, TV and en suite shower room with WC and basin. There is a second double bedroom and two twin bedrooms. The family bathroom has a newly fitted suite comprising washbasin, WC, bidet, rolltop bath, separate shower and heated towel rail.

The enclosed landscaped gardens at Gorwel are a real feature. In spring and summer the whole front of the cottage is adorned with a mature wisteria, while the gardens have plenty of hydrangeas and other mature bushes and plants. There are two secluded patios for outside dining, sunbathing and relaxing and a large log cabin summerhouse / games room with fantastic south facing sea views and its own patio. The summerhouse has a TV, DVD, barbecue and furniture - the kids (and grown -ups ) love it! An additional decked area houses a large and private hot tub with waterfalls, champagne holders and stunning sea views. There is ample parking in a large car park with room for up to 7 cars.

LocationNorth Wales

North Wales showcases some of the UK's most varied landscape, from the snow-capped mountains of Snowdonia to the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula. Indeed, it is one of the only parts of Britain where you can be in the mountains in the morning and at the seaside by the afternoon. The diverse animal life of the region reflects this, with everything from otters to ospreys and seals to dolphins.

Not many places are imbued with such history and heritage, which is reflected throughout the region from cottages to castles! Attractions abound, with zoos and farms, steam railways and activity centres. There are regular events from international cultural festivals and shows to family fun days.

The area also offers a huge range of outdoor activities; walking, cycling, fishing, golf and water-sports to name only a few. In many parts of North Wales the spoken language is Welsh, not English, although people who cannot or will not speak the latter are rare, and signposts and other notices always display their message in both languages.
