Spacious Group Retreat, near Brecon (TYCERBR)

The Property is great for a group of friends or a family get together and you can be assured of a very warm welcome. This great old stone barn has the most magnificent views of The Brecon Beacons - probably some of the best in the area. The house has a very large comfortable sitting room with plenty of sofas, three bedrooms on the ground floor for older members of the party or with walking difficulties and more upstairs. The Granary has been lovingly converted to a superb standard using local craftsmen and local materials. Hand-made doors from the Douglas Fir felled by The River Usk, retained stone cart arches letting in lots of light and making the best of the glorious view. Lots of parking and bring your mountain bikes or have them delivered to the door - The Taff Trail passes close to the barn. Only 2 miles of flat walking to Brecon along the Canal Tow Path. Plenty of walking for well behaved pets down by the River Usk at the end of the drive, along the canal tow path. Watch the canal boats pass through The Lock at Brynich - this is quite a spectator sport. Ty Cerrig has a purpose built range of stables for guests horses - wonderful riding country. An excellent local pub with restaurant with The Three Horse Shoes at Groesffordd. There is also The Old Ford at Llanhamlach - brilliant for Sunday lunch but make sure to book.

LocationMid Wales

This is the go to place for outdoor enthusiasts to make the most of the fantastic walking, riding & cycling opportunities, especially in the Cambrian Mountains National Park. The Ceredigion Coastal Path features numerous trails to choose from depending on how far you wish to travel. Whether for a full walking holiday or just a stroll along the cliffs to a village pub, this unspoilt route is perfect and has views out across the famous Cardigan Bay which is home to the UKs largest pod of dolphins.

Dotted along the Wales-West England border are lots of lovely market towns, many of which have their own castle. This disputed ground has a large number of Roman and Norman medieval fortresses, today some are only ruins or just the earthen works remain however there are plenty which have restored to their former glory and are open to visitors.

Mid Wales also just touches on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, a popular mountain range for exploring caves, forest activities and other more extreme outdoor sports such as rock climbing and abseiling. A number of historic railways mean other regions of Wales are easily accessible for a day trip, and make for an enjoyable way to travel and take in the sights.
