Comfortable Group Retreat, near Brecon (WALNUBR)

The Property is a beautiful, very well kept self catering barn to sleep 10 guests in 5 bedrooms. The perfect place for families with a wonderful safe play area.

This very well maintained barn is built made of stone and wood "shiplap" which is traditional in the Welsh Marches. The barn is right on the Wye Valley Walk, and so is an ideal location for walkers, mountain bikers, and canoeists (there is safe storage for mountain bikes and canoes). There is a safe children's play area and large BBQ/picnic area. There are many footpaths crossing the farm and a pond with a bench and table for relaxing. The house has outstanding views of the Black Mountains, which can be seen from your living room window. There are several excellent local pubs/restaurants; Foyles, The River Cafe at Glasbury, The Bridge End at Llyswen, The Boat at Whitney-on-Wye, Llangoed Hall and all the many amenities in Hay-on-Wye.

Ground Floor

Kitchen with ample work and storage space, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and a washing machine/dryer. Beautiful sitting room with magnificent views of the Black Mountains. Much of the traditional stonework and original features have been retained. There are comfortable leather sofas and chairs, TV, DVD and CD player. Large dining table and chairs to comfortably seat 10. A downstairs cloakroom with handbasin and toilet.

The holiday cottage is 2 miles from Glasbury, 1 mile from Boughrood and 6 miles from Hay-on-Wye. It is also within 10 miles of Brecon to the South and Builth Wells to the East.

LocationMid Wales

This is the go to place for outdoor enthusiasts to make the most of the fantastic walking, riding & cycling opportunities, especially in the Cambrian Mountains National Park. The Ceredigion Coastal Path features numerous trails to choose from depending on how far you wish to travel. Whether for a full walking holiday or just a stroll along the cliffs to a village pub, this unspoilt route is perfect and has views out across the famous Cardigan Bay which is home to the UKs largest pod of dolphins.

Dotted along the Wales-West England border are lots of lovely market towns, many of which have their own castle. This disputed ground has a large number of Roman and Norman medieval fortresses, today some are only ruins or just the earthen works remain however there are plenty which have restored to their former glory and are open to visitors.

Mid Wales also just touches on the edge of the Brecon Beacons, a popular mountain range for exploring caves, forest activities and other more extreme outdoor sports such as rock climbing and abseiling. A number of historic railways mean other regions of Wales are easily accessible for a day trip, and make for an enjoyable way to travel and take in the sights.
