Overlooking Loch Tummel this 19th century former Scottish manse (or vicarage) has been transformed in 2016 into an amazing country home, specifically designed for the holiday market - including a hot tub.  Located 11 miles from Pitlochry on the south side of Loch Tummel in a stunning rural setting within 2 acres of grounds, this pet friendly property is perfectly suited for three family groups, or a mixture of up to 12 guests.

An elegant hallway adorned with stags' heads and a pitch pine staircase offer a warm welcome as you enter the house.  Reception rooms include a well appointed sitting room with wood-burning stove, a fine dining room and TV room, ideal for children, all with views overlooking the front lawn. The hub is most definitely the large country kitchen with breakfast room, where everyone can chat and cook together in comfort.

Living Space

Reception rooms

The south facing sitting room, with its wood-burning stove, is an expansive room full of comfortable sofas and armchairs for your group to relax in, whilst chatting or watching the TV. There is an elegance about this room which feels light and airy on account of a glass panelled door leading out to the garden.

Additionally there is a TV room, an ideal hangout for the children. Here there is a large TV with Sky connection and plenty of sofas. In fact there is a double sofa-bed available in this room to accommodate any additional children. At the front door is a boot room, ideal for storing coats and boots, whilst at the back door there is some limited storage space available as well.

Kitchen / Dining

Like so many country houses, the hub of the house is always the kitchen and this is no exception. On offer is a very large space, which houses a country style kitchen, with oil fired Rayburn and a gas Kenwood range cooker, with central work station. What used to be two rooms has now been created into one large room, with the next section housing the breakfasting area, with a table that can seat 10 people. The whole room has a country kitchen feel, with pine dressers and platters, giving the room a lovely old-fashioned character which would be a joy to work in. Next door is a larder with a fridge and freezer, as well as a utility room with a washing machine.

LocationPitlochry

The beautiful Victorian town of Pitlochry has been a popular destination since hosting a visit from HRH Queen Victoria. The Perthshire town is easily accessible, being just off the A9 road, and is considered a gateway to the Highlands. Located on the River Tummel and with a spectacular highland hills backdrop the area is ideal for walkers and cyclists. Killiecrankie wooded gorge is a beautiful landscape to discover. The setting of a battle during the Jacobite uprisings, you can learn its history at the Visitors Centre, and for daredevils, bungee jumping is available! The nearby Atholl Palace Hotel is now a museum as well, and the magnificent Blair Castle is also open to the public. For any nature lovers, the Explorers Garden would be worth a visit, the gardens represent the exploration into world flora, with specimens from all over the world.

Perthshire

Perthshire is a natural choice for visitors as geographically it is in the very heart of Scotland. Its popularity is no wonder; with the lush lowland pastures of the south meeting the rugged grandeur of the Highlands, this county is beautifully rich in scenery and magnificent landscapes. The old county of Kinross-shire is now generally considered to be part of this region, and the local council area is now called Perth and Kinross. Kinross sits beside the beautiful Loch Leven, with Lochleven Castle nearby. The central point is the city of Perth, the fair city bustles with life, with the river Tay running through it. The impressive Scone Palace is nearby, which was the crowning place for Scottish Kings. Perthshire is also home to the world famous Gleneagles Hotel and leisure complex. This is also Big Tree Country, with the world's highest hedge at Meikleour, Europe's oldest tree, the widest conifer in Britain, the sole survivor from Shakespeare's Birnam Wood and many more fascinating trees. Why not visit Glenshee and take part in some skiing, or try mountain biking through the many hills and glens. Blair Castle is an impressive site, and with expansive grounds and an adventure playground, will entertain the whole family.

Highlands and Islands

This region takes in Inverness-shire, Ross-shire, Sutherland, Caithness and the islands include the Inner and Outer Hebrides as well as Orkney and the Shetland islands. For spectacular scenery the Highlands of Scotland provides some of the best, with a huge expanse of area full of mountains, lochs and glens full of romance, wildlife and scenic beauty. The heritage of this area includes Culloden, taking the ferry to the Isle of Skye or just taking in one of the many castles like Eilean Donan. There is also an immense range of wildlife to be found.
