LocationPerthshire

Perthshire is a natural choice for visitors as geographically it is in the very heart of Scotland. Its popularity is no wonder; with the lush lowland pastures of the south meeting the rugged grandeur of the Highlands, this county is beautifully rich in scenery and magnificent landscapes. The old county of Kinross-shire is now generally considered to be part of this region, and the local council area is now called Perth and Kinross. Kinross sits beside the beautiful Loch Leven, with Lochleven Castle nearby. The central point is the city of Perth, the fair city bustles with life, with the river Tay running through it. The impressive Scone Palace is nearby, which was the crowning place for Scottish Kings. Perthshire is also home to the world famous Gleneagles Hotel and leisure complex. This is also Big Tree Country, with the world's highest hedge at Meikleour, Europe's oldest tree, the widest conifer in Britain, the sole survivor from Shakespeare's Birnam Wood and many more fascinating trees. Why not visit Glenshee and take part in some skiing, or try mountain biking through the many hills and glens. Blair Castle is an impressive site, and with expansive grounds and an adventure playground, will entertain the whole family.

Highlands and Islands

This region takes in Inverness-shire, Ross-shire, Sutherland, Caithness and the islands include the Inner and Outer Hebrides as well as Orkney and the Shetland islands. For spectacular scenery the Highlands of Scotland provides some of the best, with a huge expanse of area full of mountains, lochs and glens full of romance, wildlife and scenic beauty. The heritage of this area includes Culloden, taking the ferry to the Isle of Skye or just taking in one of the many castles like Eilean Donan. There is also an immense range of wildlife to be found.

28th September 2016 Excellent

Ideal Accommodation for my party. House was large with plenty of character. Plenty of bedrooms, large kitchen area & dining room. Sky TV was a bonus too. Well kept grounds. The only negative was having to strip the bedding & take to the laundry room. Perhaps the housekeeper's job? Everyone enjoyed their stay.

Service rating : Thanks so much, fab to hear you found our service helpful & friendly.

You may also wish to follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with all the latest news and special offers!

Product : So nice to hear you found this mansion perfect for your trip and that you are already thinking of re booking for next year! We agree, this historic mansion is full of character and the spacious rooms are ideal for a big group get together. Each individual owner will have a guest hand book on site with a few requests for your departure day, this does vary on a per property basis but your feedback is very much appreciated and we will certainly pass on to the owners of this mansion.

7th May 2016 Excellent

Drumkilbo was perfect for our 50th Birthday party of 19. The rooms were spotless, the beds comfy with fine cotton duvets & linen. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need with adjacent bar area & beer/wine cooler! Dining room beautiful and a great reception/sitting room at the other end of this marvellous house.
The owner, a charming gentleman, was able to join us for afternoon tea. We will be back to Drumkilbo - need to find another excuse well before our next big Birthdays in 10 years!

Service rating : Thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback for our service. Great that you found all our team helpful and friendly on the phone, and that viewing the property also helped with making the plans for your special get together.  Don’t forget to check our holiday idea page with tips on cooking for large groups and organised activities!

Product : Sounds like this stunning mansion was all you hoped for, and perfectly suited for your celebration. We agree, the dining room and grand drawing room are ideal for a large gathering, and I’m sure meeting the owner was a lovely welcome. Don’t forget to claim your loyalty discount for your next trip!

10th April 2016 Excellent

Great house with plenty space and had a grand feel! A few too many rules came out of wood work just before event but we worked around them! I think previous bad experiences led to rules!
Weather was dry which made for a better occasion as we could use the grounds and be outside. Plenty bathrooms, warm water available all the time. Comfy beds and decoration in keeping with the house.

Service rating : Thank you for your feedback, we were delighted to help with your weekend away and hope we can be of assistance again in the future - great to hear you found our service friendly and professional, we are certainly very happy to help with any of those little extras where possible!

Product : We are delighted to hear you had an excellent time at this beautiful mansion and that the weather was kind to you throughout your stay, sounds like you really made the most of the house and grounds! Great that the misunderstanding regarding catering was resolved swiftly between yourselves and the owners, we are always very happy to double check these extras for guests beforehand if notified at enquiry stage, to avoid any confusion as given the nature of letting such unique large  houses, they all come with different guidelines. Don't forget to claim your loyalty discount if you ever wish to re book.

18th February 2016 Great

We have stayed here before. Great house, the kitchen good do with a bit of an upgrade. We self catered and took a lot of the food part prepared so we managed fine.

Service rating : Delighted to hear you found us helpful, it was a pleasure assisting with your return trip to this beautiful mansion. Can't wait to help arrange your next stay!
Product : Thank you for your feedback, all comments are invaluable and we will pass these on. We are pleased you enjoyed your second visit, sounds like you were all very well prepared and hope to hear from you again in the future.

21st November 2015 Excellent

The house was perfect for our needs. Only negative comment was there were lots of lightbulbs out, but overall we were delighted and the household manager (Carol) was great. They were also kind enough to accommodate our request not to take the extra cottage at late moment. I understand the owner was actually staying there while we were on premises so we were lucky it worked out for them to do this.

Service rating : Thank you for your review, so pleased to of been of help with such a special booking for you and you found our team a pleasure to deal with. We hope we may be able to help again in the future!

As explained from your initial enquiry, all of our properties usually let for self-catered holiday purposes, however there are a few venues that are very geared up for weddings but extra fees would apply for hosting this onsite. This is a standard charge for use of the house over and above the usual self-catered rental and the rates are set and requested by the owners to cover additional strain/ use of the facilities onsite rather than additional supplies which would normally be provided by the group.

I am sure the owners would be very happy to help clarify this further for you, if you are still unsure of the charges that were payable.
Product : So pleased that the house was perfect for your needs and it sounds like you have some lovely memories from your big day! We totally agree Carol is very accommodating and a great help, lovely to hear any minor niggles were resolved promptly for you!

With regards to the cottage adjustment, fantastic that we could arrange the refund before your stay, the owners were very happy to offer this. Should you ever wish to re book please don’t hesitate to get in touch we would be very happy to help and look forward to hearing.

20th November 2014 Great

Had a great time , only down side was there early departure required on the day of leaving 10 was early, 11 or even better 12 would have gave us a chance to have breakfast together and still have time to tidy up

Thank you for your comments, glad you found our website and communication helpful!

Lovely to hear you had a nice time overall at this beautiful house. Although the housekeepers do try and be as flexible as possible with check in/out times, they do have a tight time frame to turn these large properties around in between groups, so a later check out is sometimes not possible. It’s always worth asking though just in case!

By all means if you wish to book again please get in touch and if a later check out is a requirement, we would be happy to ask on your behalf prior to booking. Although this is often something that cannot be confirmed until nearer to the time.

Property was excellent and reception and tour by housekeeper was very good, inluding the tip about arriving ahead of guests so we could be shown around properly. Also being flexible enough to allow us to access property earlier was helpful!

We are pleased that on this occasion the owner was able to accommodate your request to open up the pool for use, we hope your family had a wonderful stay in this beautiful mansion and we look forward to hearing from you again in the future!

15th November 2013 Excellent

All of our party thoroughly enjoyed their visit from the youngest to the oldest. Accommodation was comfortable and well equipped even for 20 people. The only drawbacks were the very variable mobile phone signals - depending on the phone company some guests could not get a signal at all - and some of the bedrooms were a bit cold even with the heating on. The grounds were beautiful even this late in the year. Everyone enjoyed exploring and seeing the deer and red squirrels was a particular highlight.

Many thanks for your feedback. Great to hear that you found our website and service helpful!

So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Drumkilbo House overall and managed to catch glimpse of some of the wildlife too, we shall certainly pass all of your comments on.

Don't forget we offer a loyalty discount for returning guests and we would love to help with any future plans you may have to re book.

30th October 2013 Excellent

We stayed here for a surprise 25th Wedding Anniversary and had no issues what so ever. The property was absolutely stunning, and the tour from the owner Mr Bunting was most informative and helpful. Every person in my party, from 3 years old to 73 years old throroughly enjoyed themselves. I would definately stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted that you found our service to be efficient and helpful and we would love to assist with any future plans you may have!

Also, great to hear you enjoyed your celebrations at Drumkilbo House, we shall certainly pass your comments on to the owners. Don’t forget we do offer a loyalty discount for returning guests, should you like to re book!
