The seating area looks like a classic elegant sitting room you would find in a country house rather than a cottage, with comfortable sofas and armchairs and prints of game birds on the walls. With a warming wood-burning stove and TV, this is a lovely setting to be entertained in. In the converted garage space which adjoins to the cottage is a games room/sporting room, which houses a table tennis table, wood-burning stove and is adorned with antlers, taxidermy and rod holders for fishing rods. There is also access to a tennis court within the grounds.

Kitchen / Dining

The kitchen is beyond the living space in the centre of the house and it is a classic rectangular space, which has been well designed to maximise work space and storage. With 4 electric hobs and oven, along with the microwave, there is plenty of cooking capacity for the numbers involved. A dishwasher and fridge/freezer are located in the kitchen, whilst a chest freezer can be made available in the games room. There is one large living space which is split between the seating area and the dining space. This dining section is elegantly set-up, with a fine dining table that can seat up to 8 people, surrounded by a dresser and antique pictures on the wall.

One of the most historic cities in Scotland, Stirling has a rich heritage based around the Wars of Independence. The magnificent Stirling Castle was a site of historic importance. The grand National Wallace Monument overlooks the Battle site at Stirling Bridge, where the patriot and martyr Sir William Wallace won a famous victory. The Old Town is packed with medieval and renaissance architecture, and cobbled streets, but there is also a bustling modern city centre, where you can find an array of shops and restaurants. Kings Park, Stirling’s largest park is fun for the family, with a golf course, and beautiful walks, as well as extensive playground equipment for the kids, crazy golf and a skate park.

Stirlingshire sits in the very centre of Scotland. The county town of Stirling itself is considered a gateway to the Highlands. The town and indeed the shire of Stirling has played a tremendous role in Scotland’s historical wars for Independence; with William Wallace’s defeat at the Battle of Falkirk, and Robert the Bruce’s famous Battle of Bannockburn, there are now several sites of historical interest to visit. The town of Falkirk lies in the Forth Valley, and boasts the impressive Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boat lift. The town of Blair Drummond is home to the Safari and Adventure Park; a fantastic family day out, and Edinburgh and Glasgow are both popular for day trips. Other towns of interest in Stirlingshire include Bridge of Allan, Grangemouth and Denny. To the west lies the Trossachs National Park, and the east shores of Loch Lomond. The spectacular highland beauty found here is ideal for nature lovers, and explorers.

Central Scotland

Incorporating the two largest Scottish cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, Central Scotland is a hive of activities and attractions for visitors, and there will be plenty to entertain you on your trip. For a family outing try Edinburgh Castle, for a day at the beach try the Firth of Forth coastline, for shopping you can’t beat either city centre, or if you just want soaking up some Scottish landscapes try Perthshire’s rolling southern lowlands, and wilderness of its highland. Whatever takes your fancy, the central counties can offer it all. Airports at Edinburgh, Glasgow and Prestwick offer great transportation links for those coming from afar.
