The magnificent Great Hall, which is the elegant drawing room today, is to be found on the first floor, accessed by the main stone stairs. With its double height oak beamed ceiling, stone fireplace, hung tapestries and crossed pikes on the wall, it has retained a 16th century character. However there is always a warm welcome, even if the roaring fire has died down, as there is under-floor heating. With comfortable seating this is joyous room to be in at any time of the day. Next door is the library, which is a comfortable room with TV and a library of books, making this a wonderful room to take the time to do some interesting reading in peace.

    Kitchen & Dining
The vaulted dining hall with its low arched ceiling and long dining table is quite a sight. With a suit of armour in the corner, you are half expecting knights to appear and join in. This atmospheric room is ideal for hosting a medieval banquet or festive feast. With comfortable tartan chairs around the fine oak dining table, it is a perfect setting for your group. The kitchen is next door, making it easy and quick to serve food. This room is part medieval and part commercial kitchen, with all its stainless steel set in a vaulted room. The impressive cooking range with its 5 gas burners, double oven and grill, makes cooking so much easier. There is everything you require with integral microwave, instant hot water tap, 2-part dishwasher, ice machine and upright US style fridge freezer. There is a utility room and additional food storage accessed via the back door. For those who wish to bring in a caterer or cook, then the manager has a list of excellent local choices who know the castle well.

Luxury accommodation, well equipped with everything we needed. Nice touches like ice machine, auto coffee bean grinder, Basic provisions were supplied, including drink mixers and nibbles

We had a fabulous week away

Wonderful to hear the castle gave your holiday the Wow factor! I’m sure the personal welcome and all the little extra touches made the stay very special, this 5 star luxury accommodation is just perfect for a group looking for a once in a lifetime experience!

Please do let us know if we can help plan any future trips and we would be delighted to assist.

Easy to book but did have a slight hiccup as provisional date offered couldn't be honored Also note there is a percentage charge for using a credit card which is a bit disappointing given the size of purchase.

Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback, glad you found our booking process easy! Many of our owners do multi list with various agents and portals as well as accepting their own bookings so dates can be snapped up quite quickly. Availability can never be guaranteed until a booking is confirmed with an owner but so glad that we were able to help arrange dates which still suited your plans.

I am sorry you found the bank charges to be excessive, unfortunately we have no control over external charges brought by banks and third party providers, but we can accept payment by sterling cheque or debit card, which do not attract a fee. Hope this helps and look forward to helping with future holiday plans.
