Peebles is a thriving market town in the Scottish Borders set within the Tweed Valley. With a central market place and a traditional High Street, there is a quaint old-fashioned air about the own which is timeless. Coffee shops, restaurants, banks, fuels stations, village stores and a selection of supermarkets are available in Peebles. The Tweeddale Museum and Gallery are worth a visit, as well as Neidpath Castle and Traquair House, which is one of the oldest inhabited houses in Scotland dating back over 900 years. The river Tweed is known around the world as a great salmon river, whilst other attractions include mountain biking in Glentress Forest and walking in the Southern Upland Way.
