This south facing traditional sporting lodge, situated in its own 5,000 acre estate, is to be found in the scenic north west of Scotland, a two-hour drive from Inverness. Set up as a family holiday house, it was built in 1927 at Kishorn, one of the most picturesque settings on the west coast.
On arrival, after travelling through some of the most breathtaking scenery in Wester Ross, you will find a practical and comfortable holiday house, which is perfect for a large group of friends and family. There are two large sitting rooms, both with wood burning stoves and ideal to split adults in one and children in the other, with folding pool table and table tennis table available. The dining room seats up to 18 people, and is located by a galley kitchen, with the country style kitchen to the rear of the house. There is additional larder storage for foodstuffs and as you might expect on the west coast, a substantial drying room to dry clothes after a day on the hill. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all upstairs, accessed by an impressive pitch pine staircase. Whilst there is no TV reception, a TV is provided with a DVD player and DVDs, and there is Wireless Broadband available. The grounds around the house are substantial and consist of sloping lawns and mixed woodlands, with an open view toward the sea loch in front. Sporting activities on the estate are available as extra and include salmon fishing and deer stalking, subject to availability. Whilst dogs are not allowed in the house, an outdoor kennel is provided by arrangement.

Lovely big old property in the middle of the wilds
Always easy to get hold of and a quick response.Pleasant to deal with.
I felt it was as good as staying in a very well appointed hotel well north in the highlands, but without the bother of fixed meals and staff getting in the way [the person "on site" was, however, great at being there when needed when we got puzzled on protocols].
The owner will be delighted to hear you liken her property to a well-appointed hotel. Thank you for sparing the time to provide some feedback, it's helpful for future groups to get a feel for the experience they're likely to have. Hopefully, we can tempt you back another time!
I would recommend SCH to anyone. Helping to organise a large family can be like herding cats, so there were quite a few phone calls to SCH, all of which were handled incredibly well, much appreciated. The same professionalism extended to the person on site, who was really helpful.
Really pleased you found our service helpful. It can be quite daunting organising a group holiday so we do try to give as much support as needed. We always think the group booker should get some sort of accoldate for their efforts, as you say organsing multiple families can be like herding cats! When you're ready to face the next group holiday we'd love to help again!
This felt like a home with lovely books, pictures, piano, rugs. Very good location with access to West north and East coast and several Munroes. We were there for walking not stalking and were pleased there were not too many antlers on the wall! great sunsets and beautiful views of the Loch in all conditions.
Courteous and efficient
