Home to a Royal past this castle is palatial in more than one sense of the word

A uniquely historic stately home in Scotlands Central belt, poised above the River Tay in Perthshire, provides discerning guests with an opportunity to enjoy semi or fully serviced accommodation for groups of 6 to 22.

Two apartment wings are available to book on an exclusive use B&B basis. One comfortably accommodating up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms and the other, 22 guests in 11 bedrooms. Both Wings can be combined to increase the group size on request.  The rate quoted on the website is for the total use of both apartments (sleeps 22) however there are lower occupancy rates available (sleeps 10) and (Sleeps 6), ask the office for details.  

Stately homes were built to emulate palatial living, with regal state rooms and comfortably large bedrooms built to entertain large numbers of guests. The two wings are carpeted throughout and furnished in keeping with the style and era of the building, with vast collections of art and antiques signfying royal connections past and present. 

This is an exclusive opportunity to immerse oneself in the history of Scotland’s King makers.

  • Guests will convene for pre-dinner drinks in the large formal drawing room heated by an open fire and traditionally furnished with art and antiques. Meals are served in the large dining room warmed by central heating and an open fire. The table can be dressed formally for evening meals.

    Guests using the smaller wing will convene in a less spacious but equally well appointed sitting room with open fire and comfortable seating. 

    Sleeps 22 Occupancy - will all dine together in the main dining room, rates quoted are on a nightly B&B basis 

    Sleeps 10- Occupancy - will all dine together in the main dining room, rates quoted are on a nightly B&B basis starting from £3,500 per night

    Sleeps 6 Occupancy - will be allocated the smaller wing and the rates quoted will be on a self-catered basis from £500 per night.  

    The accommodation is let on a semi to fully catered basis. Breakfast is included in the rental and will be prepared by the Estate chef. Additional meals can be arranged on request, as extra. Depending on the time of year these meals will either be prepared by the castle's preferred outside caterers or in-house staff.  

    There is no access to a kitchen in the Private Wing. Meals are taken in the Dining Room and served by Estate staff. In the smaller wing, guests have access to a small kitchen where meals can be pre-prepared and left in the fridge to heat up, or guests are welcome to cook for themselves.

  • Each Room has been individually styled and refurbished to reflect the traditions and stature of the Palace. They all look out over the Park and have views of the Tay. There is Wi-Fi in each bedroom.

  • Extensive lawns and gardens surround the property, open to the public.  With over 100 acres of Parkland, there’s plenty of opportunity for walks and activities including a maze planted in 1991 and covering an area of 1600 square metres.

    An easy taxi ride to Perth, this property is very centrally located for day trips to Edinburgh and the Central Highlands.  Perth has a good array of restaurants, pubs, shops and entertainment. 

  • SEMI-CATERED PROPERTY
    The apartment is booked on an exclusive use B&B basis with a minimum 2 night stay.  There is no access to a kitchen in the Private Wing. Meals are taken in the Dining Room and served by Estate staff.  In the smaller wing, guests have access to a small kitchen where meals can be pre-prepared by caterers or guests are welcome to cook for themselves.  The quoted price includes breakfast. If you'd like additional catering this can be arranged on request as extra.  

    OPEN TO THE PUBLIC 
    Guests will enjoy private access and parking to and from the castle apartment(s) however the main building and grounds are open to the public for most of the year.
