Lose yourselves in this vast Highland estate and its myriad sporting pursuits as the heather, hills and riverside beckon. Entertain as the lodge was intended to be used, you'll have a ball!

Sleeping up to 20 people, this is a traditional sporting lodge set in a dramatic 145,000 acre Highland estate, 8 miles up a private track, from the village of Blair Atholl. This large holiday home is centrally placed within the V-shaped glen. With heather clad steep hills on either side and river rumbling past, it is the perfect base to explore the hills beyond.

The lodge itself is functional rather than grand, but with loads of space for your group to get- together in one location. In the old days this lodge was used by the Duke of Atholl to entertain shooting guests, though these days it is more likely to be for hill walkers or other activity minded groups. The house has full central heating throughout, and whilst it may be cold outside, there is always a warm welcome inside. Please note that the lodge is closed in January and February of each year.

The large drawing room with open fire, with a selection of sofas and comfortable armchairs, is located at the front of the lodge. At the feature bay window there is a superb south facing view down the glen, with the occasional sheep or deer crossing. This room is ideal to get everyone together to discuss the day ahead or the day just gone. Next door is a smaller sitting room with TV, which is ideal for younger members of the group. This is also a cosy room, though a little Spartan in nature.

    Kitchen & Dining
The dining room with its simple wood lined wall and wooden floor is a traditional functional lodge room, with an open fire, which has a table that can seat 20 people. From a fine feast to a simple supper, once the whole group is gathered, the room will be very animated. Whilst the well equipped kitchen is modest in style, it is practical as a small scale commercial kitchen and is highly suitable for cooking for a larger group size. With a duel fuel range cooker, plus a free standing gas cooker, larder fridge, additional fridge, chest freezer, two dishwashers, microwave and hostess trolley, whoever is cooking is well served to cater for the group size.

  • Located within an enclosed policy, where sheep are more likely to be keeping the grass down than a lawnmover but otherwise perfect for dogs and children. There are further estate cottages in the vicinity but far enough away for groups to have quiet enjoyment of the lodge itself. This is a comfortable, unfussy Scottish Highland getaway, favoured by fishing and walking groups.

Close to the River Tilt, it's in a stunning spot, nestled into the hills with an abundance of walks from the doorstep.  The property can only be accessed via a private 8 mile track and is not suitable for sports cars or low slung vehicles.  Given the distance of the driveway, groups tend to leave trips to a minimum and tend to stay on-site for the duration of their stay.  There is plenty of parking for the group to the front and rear of the property.

There are two hill lochs for trout fishing, both located at the southern end of the Estate. There is also trout fishing in and around the village of Blair Atholl and the permits are issued by the local Spar Shop (Tilt Stores).  If you're interested in fishing please contact the office and we will put you in touch with the relevant contacts.

The Estate Office offers as extra, a Ranger service and additional activities, like pony trekking, guided land rover tours, and salmon fishing on the river or hill lochs can also be arranged.

Please note this property can only be accessed via a private 8 mile track and is not suitable for sports cars. No Stag Groups accepted at this property.

Due to prior bad experience this proeprty will not accept bookings from all male/female groups whose sole purpose for the holiday is to celebrate a ‘stag or hen’ style get together/party. Any booking made where the purpose of the holiday is later found to fall into this category, will be cancelled without notice, or refund.

There is a private water supply at this property, which is checked and approved on an annual basis by the local authority.

Fabulous place; very suitably equipped; very efficient handling!

Great to hear, thanks for the lovely feedback.

excellent! efficient and very practical! I particularly liked the facility to allow several parties to make payments. Very efficient for larger groups!

Really pleased you liked our group payment facility, it does make life so much easier for groups who are splitting the bill between them. We look forward to helping you again next time you organise a big get together.

The lodge was perfect for our family holiday - 20 of us + baby. The location was stunning , especially in the snow ! The house was warm and comfortable despite the size. The decor and fittings were stylish and functional without being too precious. The kitchen was very well fitted out and an ideal size for large group catering.
Our only reservation was the amount of dog poo on the grassed areas which , had the weather allowed ball games etc with the children , could have been a problem. It did make snowman building a bit tricky !!
We would certainly book this property again.

Thanks so much for your feedback, sounds like you all had a great time! Having been to this lodge myself I totally agree, its very spacious and ideal large groups and of course, in the most stunning location, so glad to hear that you all thought so too! The owners are very sorry to hear your comments regarding the garden, and send their apologies. Housekeepers are always to hand for any queries throughout your stay which may be helpful for future reference.

Can't wait to hear from you again in the future if you ever wish to re book, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us again!

Very efficient , courteous and helpful service at all stages of arranging our holiday house in Scotland for 20 people + baby. This was our second holiday with Scotts Castles and we were not disappointed.

Perfect to hear your comments regarding our service, we are pleased you felt we were both helpful and courteous. We hope to be of assistance again, with any future trips you may have on the cards!
