Description

Located one hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow, it feels miles away from civilisation, though in reality you are only a few miles from Marks and Spencer in Dunblane.

It's all about the setting and spectacular vista when staying at this hugely popular large holiday home in Central Scotland. Situated in the foothills above Dunblane, it enjoys a westerly aspect that takes in 16 Munro mountains across the battlefield of Sheriffmuir all the way to Ben Lomond.

With spectacular views it sits within an enclosed 20 acre policy, in expansive grounds including a lovely 10 minute walk to a summerhouse, which looks over two wildlife ponds. Whilst in a rural setting, this charming holiday rental is only a few miles from the Dunblane and Stirling making it very conveniently located for groups travelling in from all areas.

Multiple Occupancy Pricing Options

This property can be let on 3 occupancy levels; and can comfortably accommodate 13, 17 or 21 guests. The main house can sleep up to 13. There are also two, 2-bedroom cottages on the estate to increase your numbers to 17 or 21.

When sending an enquiry, hold or booking request, our website will quote the highest rate (sleeps 21) on the main results & availability page.  However, when you submit a Hold or Booking request it will adjust the rate to your group size, depending on the numbers selected in your party breakdown.

**October 2020 changes to layout**

The house will be undergoing some improvements in October which will include creating a utility/cloakroom off the current snooker room. This will free up the existing pantry providing more shelving space in which an extra fridge and freezer will also be housed.  There will be changes to the existing games room which will be turned into a large dining room with capacity to seat up to 24 guests comfortably.  The current dining room will be turned into a games room come playroom with the snooker table being removed altogether.

The front door situated by the turret tower welcomes you into an entrance hall with stairs to the floor above and the impressive drawing room on the first floor. This is a large rectangular room with windows overlooking the garden to the rear and to the moorland to the front. On a clear day it may be possible to view 16 “Munro” mountains across the battlefield of Sheriffmuir, all the way to Ben Lomond. With a wood-burning stove, comfortable seating, small Hi-Fi and TV – with Sky box, this is a wonderful room to be entertained in.

    Kitchen & Dining
A conservatory, off the kitchen, offers additional seating and relaxing, with a TV for DVDs. There is also a large games room with a full size snooker table, which is popular with adults and children alike.

The kitchen seems to be the main hub of the house with most groups gravitating here for the majority of their stay. Beautifully presented, it has been modernised in recent years into a wonderful country style kitchen. There is a traditional 4-oven AGA, accompanied by a 4-ring induction hob and double electric oven, which more than caters for large groups. There’s plenty of workspace for prepping food, a work-island (with seating for 3 people on bar stools), and a kitchen table seating up to 10 people.

Each cottage also comes with its own kitchen.

The dining room can seat up to 18 people over two tables if required. In the summer months, table and chairs are available at the patio area to the rear.

Guestbook

Rated 5 out of 5

We had been before and knew what we were coming to and all the facilities although the adults using the top floor showered elsewhere. Not a problem as we were all family. The kitchen allowed space for more than one person preparing, chopping, serving, finding suitable dishes etc. Two dishwashers were brilliant. Even used the washing machine as we had a baby whose parents travelled light as they came by train. Also three young children enjoyed a very wet play time in the garden during Storm Dennis and produced significantly muddy clothes. Everything was clean and the whole place was well heated. Great weekend

Easy to speak to someone when necessary

We had a great holiday in this property. We were a group of six (supposed to be 8 but two had to cancel last minute) so had plenty of room. The views from the house and the grounds are just spectacular. Feels like living on a movie set! We enjoyed learning how to cook with the Aga (and hanging out in the kitchen to enjoy its warmth) and also got a lot of use out of the snooker room each night after dinner. We had a car, but often preferred to use taxis to get down into Dunblane either to eat or hop the train to other parts of Scotland (Dunblane is a very good central spot for exploring, easy to get to both Glasgow and Edinburgh). All in all a great holiday for myself and my siblings and their spouses. Highly recommend this place. And thank you Bev for your help!

So glad you had a good time and hopefully we might welcome you back another time.

Easy to book and to have multiple people pay their share of the cost. Great service including recommendations on things to do and see and logistics of getting around. Housekeeping deposit refunded promptly.

Great to hear you found our service useful. Hopefully, we'll help you with another holiday booking very soon!
