Perched on a hill with 360 degree views including those of the Isle of Mull, just stunning!

Built in 1930, this delightful large holiday home sits on the top of a hill overlooking the popular harbour town of Oban, with spectacular views towards the island of Mull.

The owners of this magical holiday home have welcomed feedback from many guests over the years, who've commented on how it makes a fantastic holiday for extended families or groups of friends, is an ideal base to celebrate a significant birthday and to explore the wonderful coastline and islands of the West Coast of Scotland. 

PLANS FOR 2019

The owners now have the opportunity to make it even better and during 2019 will be renovating and refurbishing the house, taking into account all the feedback received – including making the wifi accessible throughout the house (BT willing)!

They are currently working with architects and garden designers to create the ideal Scottish holiday home which uses all the latest technology and environmentally sustainable designs whilst retaining the charm of the original 1930’s style.

  • PLANS FOR 2019 REFURBISHMENT

    The kitchen dining room will be extended to create more space to cook and relax. A new spacious games room will be created with a full sized pool table, table tennis table, lots of games and a cinema area. In addition there will be a large boot room, somewhere to wash down muddy dogs (and children) and charging points for electric cars. 

    AS IT WAS IN 2017

    Entering via the main front door brings you into a reception hall with 1930’s style wooden stairs and you will find the sitting room on the other side of the house. Here there is an amazing sea view, which is enhanced with seating available at the bay window, so you can sit and enjoy the view. The room is well presented with pictures of the local area, comfortable leather sofas and armchairs and a large TV. Next door is the secondary sitting room, the TV room, which is also immaculately presented, and this room is ideal for entertaining children with the TV and DVD player. Additionally on the first floor, there is a games room with a pool table and table tennis table, allowing for even more entertainment for children and adults alike, as well as a PS4. The living accommodation benefits from plenty of space with an elegant sitting room, a separate games room to entertain children and a comfortable TV room. The L-shaped dining/kitchen is ideal to entertain formally or informally.

    AS IT WAS IN 2017

    The kitchen/dining room is a large open-plan L-shaped room, with the kitchen in one section and the dining area in the other. The dining table is set up as a large square table where 12 people can be seated around it, with matching table and chairs. Whilst the kitchen section is beautifully laid out with modern units and black granite worktops, with the focus being placed on the stainless steel range. With 5 electric hobs, double oven and grill, this cooker can easily cook for the number required and there is plenty of storage for all the foodstuffs. Furthermore there is a utility room with washer/dryer.

  • PLANS FOR 2019 REFURBISHMENT

    All bedrooms will have en-suite bathrooms, with oversized showers and a new bedroom suite with stunning views to Mull and Lismore will be created in the attic. The existing games room and adjacent bedrooms will be converted into a suite of sitting room and bedrooms with separate bath and shower rooms, ideal for those with small children who may want to accommodate different bedtime/early morning waking without worrying about disturbing others.

    ACCOMMODATION AS IT STANDS IN 2017

    Ground floor - Bedroom, with zip-and-link bed for double or twin use; shower room, with shower cabinet, w.c and wash hand basin.

    First floor -Master bedroom, with super king size double bed, which is a zip-and-link bed that can be converted to a twin bed if required, with en-suite luxury bathroom, under-floor heating, with feature bath, separate shower cabinet, w.c and wash hand basin; double room, with king size double bed, which is a zip-and-link bed that can be converted to a twin bed if required; single room, with single bed with additional sofa-bed; bathroom, with bath, separate shower unit, w.c and wash hand basin; twin bedroom, with two single beds; shower room, with shower, w.c and wash hand basin; double room, with double bed, with TV.

  • PLANS FOR UPGRRADING THE GARDENS IN 2019

    Outside we will be redesigning the gardens to make them more accessible, seating areas to enjoy the views, a sheltered, covered patio area with built in barbeque, a hot tub and a Finnish bbq hut for when the weather isn’t so nice. The adventure playground will be resited and our resident fairy (Fergus) will be getting his very own grotto.

    THE LOCAL AREA

    Located on a hill overlooking the town of Oban, within its own policy, with separate drive and garden and grounds with children’s play area. There is plenty to see and do within easy reach of the house. Known for its abundance of seafood, exploring the town’s restaurants and local shops is a must. A major supermarket is available here for general shopping. The location is perfect for coastal activities, with kayaking and canoeing available in the bay, as well as whale and dolphin watching. The nearby beach at Ganavan’s Sands, and ferry trips to neighbouring Isles are available for day tripping. For land based activities, Oban has a golf course and Distillery that would be worth a visit.

    Whilst this property can supply a cot & highchair. Please make sure you submit a note on your booking form to the bookings team requesting this item so the owner knows to put one out for you on arrival.
