Description

When James Bond drove down to Glen Etive he was returning to his ancestral home of “Skyfall” but you can make this holiday house your home and find out why this area is so special.

This large holiday home is a scaled down version of a comfortable traditional lodge that replaced the old shooting lodge back in 1982, which by default due to the remote location, can now be offered as a “digital detox” destination as there is no WiFI, no TV signal and no mobile reception. So if you are looking for a holiday house that is all about the walking and the outdoor activities, and you enjoy dining together in the evening and generally socialising together without the distractions of the modern way of life, then this could be perfect for you.

Within it is comfortably furnished with a lovely sitting room with open fire, nice dining room and well equipped kitchen. There is one bedroom and shower room available at ground level, with the rest of the accommodation on the first floor. At the rear of the building is a large rod room, which is a large practical room, making it ideal to store all your outdoor equipment, heavy clothing and appropriate footwear. A kennel is available to use or dogs can be left in this rod room. The grounds are private and there is ample parking for all your cars. Whilst you may be lucky enough to see deer in the grounds, you will only miss the fantastic view over Loch Etive and surrounding hills when you leave.

The sitting room is a large space with comfortable sofas and armchairs with an open fire as the focus point. The room is decorated with pictures of local landscapes whilst some of the best landscape scenes can be seen out of the windows. There is also a small study off the sitting room, which is like a writing room and ideal for one or two people to part from the rest of the group for some peace and quiet. A DVD player and monitor can be plugged in for watching a DVD. Additionally there is the rod room, which traditionally stores fishing rods, but is also an ideal space to store extra kit you may require during your stay.

    Kitchen & Dining
The dining room is simply furnished with a dining table that can seat up to 12 people. The picture windows look out to the front overlooking the lawn and across the glen. The dining room and kitchen can be found next door to each other, allowing for easy transportation of food. The kitchen was upgraded in 2016 and is well equipped with wall units and a stainless steel gas range with 5 hobs, grill and double oven, so is ideal to cook for the number required. A microwave, dishwasher and large upright fridge and separate upright freezer are also provided. Additionally there is a large pantry area where further dry goods can be stored and here you will also find the washing machine and tumble dryer.

The nearest shop is in the village of Glencoe, 22 miles away, with the nearest supermarket at Fort William, 35 miles away.
