Vale Cottage is a beautiful grade II listed 550 year old thatched Devon longhouse situated in the popular coastal village of Croyde. It has just been lovingly restored and now has a country cottage feel combining 15th century charm with 21st century amenities with all the comforts to make a relaxing holiday home from home. The cottage retains much of its character, with many original features including low oak beams, inglenook fireplaces and window seats.
Situated about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Croyde village, with a choice of restaurants, family friendly pubs, ice cream parlours, boutiques and surf shops. The beautiful Blue Flag sandy beach of Croyde, which is renowned for its fabulous surfing patrolled by lifeguards in the main season, equally the beach is ideal for little ones with buckets and spades for rock pooling is within walking distance. The South West Coastal path is closeby for those that enjoy exhilarating coastal walks along our dramatic North Devon Coast.
The property is located on a private lane, with its own private covered courtyard and separate garden area 100 yards up the lane. The private parking is found adjacent to the garden area.
On entering Vale Cottage into the hallway which has plenty of storage for coats, flip flops and walking boots. A beautiful Inglenook fireplace with electric log burner is a cosy focal point for cooler evenings in the living room. The dining room is full of character and charm, with a feature inglenook and small cottage style windows. There is a large dining table with 8 chairs which is the ideal place for a family meal. The modern kitchen has new bespoke units and is very well equipped. The main family bathroom is off the utility room and there is a stable door off the kitchen to the covered courtyard area, perfect for enjoying an alfresco breakfast.
There are two fairly steep stair cases which lead up to the first floor, where the character of this 15th Century property is really evident, with low thresholds, ceilings and windows.
The Kingsize room with smart TV, integral hanging space, chest, and spacious en-suite bath and shower is on the right and to the left is a twin room with smart TV, chest, hanging rail and (lockable) door to further Kingsize room. This room has its own access via the staircase leading up from the hallway and also benefits from integral hanging, chest, smart TV and its own en-suite shower room. Adjoining this room is the family den with 50" TV, Playstation, Wii & DVD player and travel cot.
The fourth double bedroom is located on the ground floor and has its own en-suite shower room, smart TV and chest with ample hooks for hanging.

Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £350, which is payable with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
