A beautiful, seaside villa built to maximise the glorious views. Just perfect for group gatherings or family holidays in an accessible and quiet location right on the coast overlooking the sandy beach at Downderry where your dog is welcome too. Radiating style and luxuriousness, The Property has been transformed into a magnificent holiday home ensuring that no detail goes unmissed.
Entering the front door into a spacious utility room with terracotta-tiled flooring, you are led through into a luxury kitchen to covet! With the characterful electric Aga, extra hob and oven, two sets of dishwashers and huge fridge/freezer, there is plenty to ensure the comfort and ease of catering for a large number. In fact there’ll probably be a debate over who cooks! The open-plan dining/living room, with two sets of French doors leading outside, will enable you to spill out onto the terrace to bask in the glorious setting. The gazebo-covered hot tub makes this feature one that you can enjoy all year round and with the house and terrace facing south, you will see some stunning sunrises and sunsets reaching from the Rame Peninsula to the east across to St George’s Island in Looe, to the west.
Five spacious bedrooms upstairs, with flexible bed arrangements, and three en suite shower rooms, together with a family bathroom, means there is room for all in comfort. The two main bedrooms have doors leading out to a shared balcony providing spectacular views across the bay – the question will be who gets to choose these rooms?
The village of Downderry is about 18 miles west of Plymouth making it a very accessible seaside destination in South East Cornwall. It has a sheltered beach of grey sand and shingle with exposed rock pools at low tide and is dog-friendly all year round. There is parking in the village and a small slip road gives access to the beach for launching small boats or kayaks. At low tide it is possible to walk along the beach to neighbouring Seaton and if you like snorkelling, then the wreck of Gypsy, sister ship to the Cutty Sark, is hidden not far from the shore in a bed of kelp. Downderry has a shop, a pub, a restaurant and cafe with further choice a short walk away at Seaton. The village was recently featured in the Times as one of the best places to live in the UK by the sea. It is also on the South West Coast Path with a choice of walks in either direction which allow you to absorb the breathtaking views and fresh sea air.
