Part of a magnificent period property, The Property sits above the picturesque Skelwith Village in the Langdale Valley. This is a genuine walkers' paradise; commanding ever-changing views from the garden over the spectacular valley and circumscribed by the Lake District's most famous fells.

Chester's Cafe and the Skelwith Bridge Hotel's Talbot Bar are only a short stroll away. Inside you'll find a true taste of traditional Lakeland grandeur; high ceilings, polished floorboards, Victorian tiling and Inglenook fireplace blend beautifully with rich fabrics and lavish furnishings. This is a place to spend quality time with family or friends, at any time of year, whether relaxing or exploring. Visitors have described the interior design as thoughtful and creative, the setting as magical and the location as "amazing".

Accommodation in detail

A shared private driveway leads to private parking for 3 cars. Victorian tiled entrance hall to the elegant living / dining room with large picture window, lavish leather furnishings and woodburning stove. Local slate kitchen with access to the exterior and separate laundry room. Upstairs to double and twin bedrooms, Victorian bathroom and reading room / 2nd reception room. Upstairs again to two more fabulous double bedrooms, plus a second bathroom. Outside, an outcrop of rock forms an interesting feature and stone steps lead to an upper garden with far reaching views.

A Skelwith Bridge holiday home takes you away from the hustle and bustle of tourist traps, but places you in an ideal location for exploring the highlights. Skelwith Bridge is a small hamlet in the heart of the Langdale Valley, within easy reach of shops, Windermere Lake Cruises and restaurants in Ambleside, but surrounded by sublime countryside scenes.

Many famous Lake District walks begin in and around Skelwith Bridge; choose from challenging routes on the Langdale Pikes, Loughrigg and the tarn, or peaceful strolls on the shores of Elterwater to name but a few. Nearby Ambleside is a great place to stop off for hiking advice, with a tourist information centre and many expert outdoor stores.

Your location just off the A593 makes exploring the wider reaches of the National Park a breeze. For example; follow the road back to Ambleside and the shores of Lake Windermere, then north to Rydal Water and Grasmere, or follow the A593 south to picturesque Coniston.
