The Property is stunning Georgian property surrounded by 2.5 acres of charming grounds tucked away in a peaceful valley in the pretty village of Slapton.

The cottage has been tastefully decorated throughout following the original Georgian theme therefore retaining many of those lovely old features and characteristics. Comfortably sleeping 14 in 7 bedrooms this property is ideal for larger parties who are looking to celebrate an event or enjoy a lovely family break. With a games room and an elegant conservatory located to the back of the property and benefiting from the glorious views over the grounds this property has something to offer to your whole party.
There is a terraced area and BBQ space in front of the conservatory where you can enjoy those sunny evenings and dine alfresco. The garden also provides enough room for a marquee to be placed if you were to celebrate a special occasion. The Property is an enchanting Georgian property where many special holiday memories can be made.

With Slapton sands just 2 miles away and Kingsbridge and Dartmouth only a 15 minute drive away this holiday destination offers something to everybody. Kingsbridge and Dartmouth both have various shops, pubs, restaurants and boat rides to explore and are both a lovely place to enjoy a real ale after an exciting day touring the South Hams. The sailing town of Salcombe is a 20 minute drive away and is a must place to visit for a stroll and to take in the breath taking views whilst devouring a famous Salcombe Dairy ice cream.

When booking the property all guests receive a 25% reduction for the use of the leisure facilities at The Best Western Dartmouth Hotel, Golf and Spa. This provides perfect entertainment for a rainy day as you can pleasure in the use of the indoor swimming pool and the gym.

Living space

This superb house is spoilt with two separate living rooms providing plenty of space for all members to enjoy and relax. The first room has been beautifully decorated with a blue and white theme and features a stunning wood burner for those cold evenings. As well as Freeview TV this room also has dual aspect windows with views of the grounds. Perfect for sitting back and relaxing in whilst the children play in the vast amount of outside space. Sitting room 2 serves the needs for anyone looking for peace and quiet to read a book or perhaps to let the children recline in after a long day and watch the TV or a DVD. With an open log fire providing extra heat this room is the ideal place to take a break and make yourself at home. Between the colder months of October and March a starter pack of logs is provided for the wood burners.


Bedroom 1 is allocated on the ground floor next door to the kitchen, this room comfortably sleeps 2 in a double bed with an en-suite shower room. This room was originally described as the annex and contains a small kitchen area, great for a couple who like their own peace and quiet. With a door leading out to the patio area and beautiful views towards the grounds this is a brilliant spot to enjoy a cup of tea in the morning and watch the sunshine rise. With a direct access through to the conservatory you can easily be back in contact with the rest of your party making this a lovely little bolthole offering the best of both worlds.
The remaining bedrooms are all located on the first floor and are all individually decorated with a tasteful theme throughout. The master bedroom contains a king-size bed and its own en-suite. All rooms have the beautiful Georgian windows making them very light and spacious and allowing you to make full use of the splendid views which surround the house. Plenty of storage is provided in the master bedroom including a large wooden wardrobe and there is still plenty of room for a travel cot if you wanted to have a little one in with you. Another king size bed and en-suite shower room can be found in bedroom 3. Again this bedroom has more than enough storage space and enjoys the wonderful views devoted to the property. Bedrooms 4 and 5 both sleep 2 in twin beds these rooms are both adequately equipped with fitted furniture and enjoy the fabulous views around. A set of bunk beds can be found in bedroom 6 these are full size and therefore appropriate for adults as well as making this a fun room for children to sleep in. The final bedroom sleeps 2 in a double bed and provides a decorous wardrobe for all of those holiday outfits as well as including a separate wash basin. This allows for extra comfort of an evening as well as a separate place to get ready for your busy day of exploring.


Towards the back of the property and taking advantage of the fabulous views of the grounds you can find the conservatory. A blissful suntrap in the summer as well as an enjoyable space in the winter due to its wood burning stove making this a lovely haven to settle back in and stargaze at the night sky. With enough seating and also featuring a dining table with chairs you can enjoy this space whilst dining and therefore embracing the lovely views. Alternatively it is a lovely space to enjoy a BBQ dinner when the evenings are slightly colder as the patio doors lead onto the terraced area as well as the grounds.


The Property benefits from a large traditional open planned kitchen and dining space with gorgeous features such as the original exposed beams making this a very comfortable and welcoming room. Beautifully decorated with a pale blue and white colour scheme and wonderful slate tiles with underfloor heating, making this the perfect entertainment room.  The kitchen contains a feature Rangemaster cooker with a 5 ring hob and hot plate, dishwasher and an American style fridge/freezer. The stylish black kitchen surfaces provide much space to prepare meals whilst socializing with friends and family at the dining table.

Utility area

separate utility area can be found just off from the kitchen. This room contains a washing machine, a washer/dryer and a tumble dryer. This space allows you to come back in after a long day at the beach and abandon your beach clothes.


With 5 separate bathrooms this large property really does generate comfort and convenience for every guest. On the ground floor you can find a shower room with a power shower, wash basin and WC. This is a great room to shower down the kids after a long day of water sports at the beach. The master bedroom contains its own private en-suite containing a bath with a power shower overhead, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.Positioned in bedroom 3 is another separate en-suite with a large generous step in shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. The family bathroom is also located on the first floor and provides a facility for the remaining bedrooms this considerable sized room contains a bath with a power shower overhead, washbasin, WC and heated towel rail.

Games room

Leading into the conservatory a games room is situated, a wonderful den full of entertainment. This fun based room contains a piano, various children's games and a Bar Billiards table with a full explanation and set of rules on the wall.

Outside space

The Property is surrounded by beautiful grounds and spectacular wildlife. In front of the conservatory and the terraced area there is a large enclosed garden which is great for children to run around in safely. This is also a big enough size to hold a marquee at the owner's discretion therefore, a wonderful pace to host a garden wedding or any celebrations. Towards the front of the property there is further lawn and a tranquil patio area containing garden furniture which is a blissful place to sit and revel in the atmosphere. Edging the property are further well-kept grounds of approximately 1.5 acres. This includes a climbing frame and fun area for children as well as BBQ area to cook up many delicious meals. In front of the conservatory you can also find duck ponds with free roaming ducks wondering the grounds. These beautiful grounds create a pleasant and exciting feel to your holiday and help you let yourself go and enjoy your getaway.

From Tavistock and the rivers Tavy and Tamar to the English Riviera of Torbay, and the nautical town of Dartmouth north across Dartmoor (with its famous miniature ponies) to the surfing beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe, there can be few counties in England that offer such a broad spectrum of experiences to the visitor. 

Located in the South Westerly reaches of England, Devon shares a southerly border with Cornwall, and an easterly border with Somerset and Dorset. To the north and south the Bristol and English channels provide miles of beautiful coastline, and numerous attractions to the county. 

Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty (5), National Parks (2) and many other parks and reserves make it very easy to get off the beaten track, but the cities of Plymouth and Exeter are as modern and vibrant as they come.

Inland are a number of country landscapes to explore; Tarka Country to the north, taking its name from a famous novel, offering the Tarka Trail; a fantastic cycle route through the beautiful country landscapes. Centrally, Dartmoor National Park is the largest open space in South England, and offers miles of rugged and wild moorland for keen walkers to explore.

Dartmoor Zoological Park is situated on the edge of the moor. The zoo is the inspiration behind a Hollywood film, and home to an impressive range of exotic animals. Along the south coast is the spectacular Jurrasic Coast World Heritage Site, reaching from Exmouth along into Dorset, and offering a spectacular coastline to discover.

Further south along the coast is the borough of Torbay, home to some of Devon’s most popular seaside resorts and tourist spots, and known as the English Riviera. Devon’s county town is the attractive city of Exeter, offering a mix of historical and modern architecture and culture. To the south is the University City of Plymouth, a historic port, and home to The Hoe, a popular public open space offering a range of attractions.   

Devon is the third biggest county in the UK by area, but it's quite easy to get around. In population, it is only the twelfth largest, so it's really not very crowded! Geographically and in spirit quite unlike the neighbouring counties, Devon is characterised by the granite structure that forms Dartmoor rising out of its distinctive red soil, and the very different Devonian rock structure underlying Exmoor. The Devonian geological period was actually named after Devon since it was here that these rocks were first studied. 

South West

England’s peninsula incorporates the counties of Cornwall and Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Bristol. This region is mostly rural so is perfect to escape the everyday hustle and bustle, whether relaxing with the family by the seaside or exploring the wild moors and rugged coastline. The area boasts hundreds of beautiful sandy bays to choose from and fantastic surfing opportunities. The historic cities of Exeter, Bath and Gloucester are definitely worth a visit, and with transport links all the way down to Penzance even the famous Lands End and remote Isles of Scilly can be reached.
