OverviewDartwood is a four bedroom detached property located in an elevated position with breathtaking extensive views over the beautiful River Dart to Dartmouth and the historic Britannia Royal Naval College, Waterhead Creek and the countryside beyond. It has recently been refurbished to a high standard and extended to create a comfortable, flexible and enjoyable space to relax in. Outside you can enjoy al fresco moments either on the balconies or the lovely lawned gardens below, all with spectacular views.
KitchenThis kitchen will be a joy to cook in with the double windows enjoying the beautiful views over the River Dart and beyond. Featuring all the latest technology including a double oven and hob, separate fridge, dishwasher, microwave oven, this kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need during your stay. A breakfast bar with stools for that early coffee moment commands the centre of the kitchen. The utility room is just off the kitchen with a washer/dryer, freezer and stainless steel sink and drainer. A small utility cupboard is in the kitchen where you will find all your laundry requirements, ironing board, airers etc.
DiningThe dining room is set just off the kitchen on the lower ground floor. Comfortable dining for up to 8 people at the large extendable dining table with matching chairs. There are patio doors leading out onto the glass balcony and a large aspect window commanding views over the River Dart and the Steam railway and beyond.
LivingThe bright, spacious living area leads out on to the private furnished balcony, and it can be accessed from the dining room as well as the living room. Start your day by stepping outside and taking in the views for a few moments, and end it watching the sun set as you spend time unwinding over an al fresco meal. In the lounge are 2 three-seater settees , an easy chair and bean bag, large coffee table and side-board can also be found. A wood-burner is available for those chilly evenings. A telescope has been provided to view the countryside and river at your leisure.
Wi-Fi is also available for guests to use at their convenience.SleepingThere are four bedrooms (2 en-suite). Tastefully decorated through-out with stunning views. The master bedroom has a kingsize bed with fully fitted white wardrobes and drawer suite providing ample storage. En-suite bathroom. Bedroom two also has a kingsize bed with bedside table and lamp and equally extensive views over the Dart. En-suite shower room. Bedroom three has twin beds, one bedside table, lamp and chest drawers. Bedroom four is situated on the ground floor and comprises of a double and single bunk beds, double wardrobe with drawers.
BathroomsThere are three bathrooms in total. The first is the en-suite off the master bedroom, this has a bath with a shower over, w.c and wash basin integrated into a large bathroom storage suite, and an electric towel- rail. Bathroom 2 is the en-suite to bedroom 2, this is a shower room with w.c, a pedestal wash basin and towel rail. Bathroom three can be located on the ground floor next to bedroom 4 . This is a shower room with w.c, wash basin and towel rail. Outside/ParkingTo the front of the property there is an integral garage with up and over door, light and power. There are gardens and a terrace with fabulous commanding views perfect for those al-fresco moments, with four reclining patio chairs and a table. Please be aware that the off street parking to the left of the property, as you are looking at the property, belongs to the neighbouring property, The Anchorage and therefore, guests are not permitted to park in this space.

From Tavistock and the rivers Tavy and Tamar to the English Riviera of Torbay, and the nautical town of Dartmouth north across Dartmoor (with its famous miniature ponies) to the surfing beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe, there can be few counties in England that offer such a broad spectrum of experiences to the visitor. 

Located in the South Westerly reaches of England, Devon shares a southerly border with Cornwall, and an easterly border with Somerset and Dorset. To the north and south the Bristol and English channels provide miles of beautiful coastline, and numerous attractions to the county. 

Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty (5), National Parks (2) and many other parks and reserves make it very easy to get off the beaten track, but the cities of Plymouth and Exeter are as modern and vibrant as they come.

Inland are a number of country landscapes to explore; Tarka Country to the north, taking its name from a famous novel, offering the Tarka Trail; a fantastic cycle route through the beautiful country landscapes. Centrally, Dartmoor National Park is the largest open space in South England, and offers miles of rugged and wild moorland for keen walkers to explore.

Dartmoor Zoological Park is situated on the edge of the moor. The zoo is the inspiration behind a Hollywood film, and home to an impressive range of exotic animals. Along the south coast is the spectacular Jurrasic Coast World Heritage Site, reaching from Exmouth along into Dorset, and offering a spectacular coastline to discover.

Further south along the coast is the borough of Torbay, home to some of Devon’s most popular seaside resorts and tourist spots, and known as the English Riviera. Devon’s county town is the attractive city of Exeter, offering a mix of historical and modern architecture and culture. To the south is the University City of Plymouth, a historic port, and home to The Hoe, a popular public open space offering a range of attractions.   

Devon is the third biggest county in the UK by area, but it's quite easy to get around. In population, it is only the twelfth largest, so it's really not very crowded! Geographically and in spirit quite unlike the neighbouring counties, Devon is characterised by the granite structure that forms Dartmoor rising out of its distinctive red soil, and the very different Devonian rock structure underlying Exmoor. The Devonian geological period was actually named after Devon since it was here that these rocks were first studied. 

South West

England’s peninsula incorporates the counties of Cornwall and Devon, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Bristol. This region is mostly rural so is perfect to escape the everyday hustle and bustle, whether relaxing with the family by the seaside or exploring the wild moors and rugged coastline. The area boasts hundreds of beautiful sandy bays to choose from and fantastic surfing opportunities. The historic cities of Exeter, Bath and Gloucester are definitely worth a visit, and with transport links all the way down to Penzance even the famous Lands End and remote Isles of Scilly can be reached.
