Situated in the residential area, just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Keswick, The Property is a tastefully refurbished Victorian Lakeland slate terrace house. Benefiting from ample parking for four cars, five ensuite bedrooms, two log burning stoves and a large patio this excellent property offers great accommodation in easy reach of the popular shops, bars, cafes and pubs to be found around the market square in the heart of Keswick.

Accommodation In Detail

Approached from the street through the small front garden, the front door opens to a vestibule which in turn leads to a large Victorian Hallway complete with original tiled floor, period features, coat hooks and boot rack. The two reception rooms have been opened up to make one large dual aspect lounge but with feature doors the room can be divided in order to make two smaller lounges each with its own TV and log burning stove.

The large kitchen diner is located at the rear of the property. The dining area is made up of character pews around a large farmhouse table and a side door from here opens onto the large patio with outdoor dining furniture and gated access to the parking area. The contemporary fitted kitchen with range cooker is the ideal place to prepare anything from a hearty Lakeland breakfast to a full celebratory dinner for ten.

From the hallway the staircase leads to the large landing on the first floor with three bedrooms leading off it; one double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with bath with shower over, a twin bedroom with ensuite shower room WC and a third bedroom with a superking bed and offers an extra single bed and an ensuite shower room with shower, basin and WC.

On the second floor there are two further bedrooms a large double bedroom with extra day bed and a twin both of which are complimented with their own ensuite shower rooms.

Almost unique for this type of property in Keswick, The Property boasts not only a large patio area, ideal for alfresco dining, but also a large parking area that can easily accommodate four cars.

Leisure Club Membership for up to eight people is available to guests during their stay.


Keswick is one of the Lake District's most popular destinations. This friendly town hosts the very popular twice weekly market that has recently won the coveted ?Best Outdoor Market? in the Great British Market Awards. The town also offers a fantastic array of shops offering everything from craft bakeries and local produce, antiques, crafts and much, much more.

If you are looking for somewhere to eat and drink, a week just won't be long enough to sample the great range of pubs, restaurants, bistros, cafes and wine bars! For a great evening out why not visit the 100 year old Alhambra offering first class cinema entertainment in traditional surroundings or enjoy an evening at ?the most beautiful and friendly theatre in Britain?, the 400 seat Theatre By The Lake on the shores of Derwentwater.

Enjoy a cruise on Derwentwater, walk onto the fells; Cat Bells, Skiddaw, Coledale Horeshoe and Blencathra are all nearby, head underground at Honister Slate Mines, enjoy mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest; explore the exquisite beauty of Borrowdale and the Scafell range.

For day trips throughout the Lake District, Ullswater is a short drive away offering lake cruises, great walking and the beautiful Aira Force Waterfall, Buttermere and Crummock Water offer sublime scenery. Ashness Bridge and Surprise View situated above the Borrowdale Valley should not be missed; nor should the unspoilt village of Watendlath.

LocationCumbria & The Lake District

The rural county of Cumbria is one of the most attractive in England. It contains the whole of the area known as the Lake District, as well as the northern part of the Pennines mountain range and, somewhat counter-intuitively, a part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The county is replete with attractions for the visitor, its historic heritage ranging from houses and gardens to stone circles and activities ranging from walking and climbing to watersports and fishing. Cumbria's lakes, valleys and fells can loosely be broken down into eight areas.

The North Lakes are the most popular with the serious outdoor enthusiast and the South Lakes draw most of the holidaymakers. The Western Lakes are less busy but still hold some varied attractions and appeal to the walkers as well as families and groups. They are home to England's tallest mountain, known as Scafell Pike.

East Lakes has its quota of mountains too, including the well-known Helvellyn, and is a fairly quiet area. Visit the Eden Valley and North Pennine area for wilderness, castles and rural villages, or perhaps consider North and South Cumbria. In the former we find Hadrian's Wall and the city of Carlisle. In the latter, coastal resorts and the biggest town, Kendal. Finally, the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is a beautiful part of Cumbria with country pubs, easy walking, and a thriving arts scene.
