Large Holiday Rental, near Windermere (1394LL)

This magnificent period residence is a castle in its own right and proudly exhibits the original tower, now a magical bedroom, with panoramic and simply breathtaking views, arguably the best from anywhere in The Lake District and probably the British Isles. Aptly named this sumptuous place literally has it all and translated the Latin meaning 'LARGE HOUSE', we think this sums it up to a tee!

For a holiday with 'wow factor' - this is a special place and one to spend your precious time together soaking up Lakeland's luxuries. Step inside and take pleasure in the outstanding features echoed throughout, ancient England blends effortlessly with 21st century life but the views remain exactly the same - climb to the magical tower room, here you are higher than the tallest of trees and birds fly way below you, but take a breath as this view is simply to die for!

Leave aside the 'million dollar views' for a moment and wander into the beautiful garden with terrace. Whether you are celebrating a happy event or just spending time with your favourite people, The Property is a grand statement property delivering comfort and matching your high expectations. Enjoy the luxury chic bathrooms, sleek yet grand bedrooms all en-suite, 21st century kitchen, a dining room fit for any formal gathering and a drawing room complete with warming open fire, opening into a sun room / conservatory, all wrapped up in sophisticated technology, are but a few things to mention.

LocationCumbria & The Lake District

The rural county of Cumbria is one of the most attractive in England. It contains the whole of the area known as the Lake District, as well as the northern part of the Pennines mountain range and, somewhat counter-intuitively, a part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The county is replete with attractions for the visitor, its historic heritage ranging from houses and gardens to stone circles and activities ranging from walking and climbing to watersports and fishing. Cumbria's lakes, valleys and fells can loosely be broken down into eight areas.

The North Lakes are the most popular with the serious outdoor enthusiast and the South Lakes draw most of the holidaymakers. The Western Lakes are less busy but still hold some varied attractions and appeal to the walkers as well as families and groups. They are home to England's tallest mountain, known as Scafell Pike.

East Lakes has its quota of mountains too, including the well-known Helvellyn, and is a fairly quiet area. Visit the Eden Valley and North Pennine area for wilderness, castles and rural villages, or perhaps consider North and South Cumbria. In the former we find Hadrian's Wall and the city of Carlisle. In the latter, coastal resorts and the biggest town, Kendal. Finally, the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is a beautiful part of Cumbria with country pubs, easy walking, and a thriving arts scene.
