If you are looking for a spacious, well-appointed place to stay then The Property is for you. Nestled in the heart of North Norfolk, the very best that Norfolk offers is all within easy reach, from beautiful sandy beaches and the Norfolk Broads to the vibrant city of Norwich with its vast array of shops, restaurants, galleries, museums and theaters. The house has recently gone through a complete renovation from top-to-bottom. Make the most of the facilities in the bespoke handmade kitchen which was built for entertaining; with a range cooker, 2 fridge/freezers, integrated wine cooler and the huge central island built around an oak pillar and exposed beams. There is a second kitchen/utility room with additional electrical appliances should you require them. Both sitting rooms have exposed oak beams and their own wood burner to keep you cosy on colder days while relaxing on one of the many sofas. WiFi, TVs, DVD player, games and a games console are all provided. The master bedroom suite is capacious and offers views over the village green with space to sit and relax, read a book or watch television. The remaining 6 bedrooms are all large and inviting and tastefully appointed. There are no fewer than 4 en-suites, all with underfloor heating, heated towel rails and excellent shower pressure. A further 2 bathrooms ensure you will never be waiting to use a bathroom! The space continues outside where you will find a large, enclosed and private space. A pond, patio and decked areas provide the perfect backdrop for al-fresco dining. Parking space is provided for at least 7 large vehicles and a fast-charge, electric car charging point is provided to use for those of you with an electric vehicle. Horstead village has all the amenities you might need to make your stay more comfortable; all within a short walk of the house including the locally renowned Recruiting Sergeant public house which is just a stone’s throw away. Known as the ‘Gateway to the Norfolk Broads’ Horstead is a village with a variety of shops and amenities to the north of historic Norwich. Being close to the Broads and standing on the river Bure, Horstead is home to a plethora of wildlife which inhabit the many undisturbed areas, making it a popular destination for a spot of birdwatching and walking. Norwich, with its stunning Cathedral, Norman Castle, Museums and shopping facilities, makes for a lovely day out. The stunning and diverse Norfolk coastline is within easy reach by car and offers sandy beaches, rugged clifftops and traditional seaside resorts.

Located on the east coast of England, facing Europe across the North Sea, Norfolk is one of the UK's most rural counties, with over forty percent of its population living in just four towns – Norwich, Great Yarmouth, King's Lynn and Thetford. Adjacent to The Wash, in whose mud the medieval King John famously lost the Crown Jewels in 1216, Norfolk's geography is that of low plains or “fens”, which makes it along with neighbouring Suffolk feel more like northern countries of European mainland (Belgium and Holland) than the rest of England which is predominantly hilly.

In a similar way to that of the “low countries”, erosion and land reclamation have changed the coastline over the centuries, so that several towns (King's Lynn, for instance) which were once on the coast are now to be found several miles inland! The whole set-up makes for some very interesting topography as well as history and Norfolk is, for this reason, an interesting county to visit, almost as if it was a different country altogether!

East of England

This region includes the ceremonial counties of Norfolk and Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Essex, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. With a rich heritage there is much to see and do to suit all ages. The royal residency of Sandringham Estate is a must see and other historical points of interest include Castle Rising, Sutton Hoo and Somerleyton Hall. The medieval cities of Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich are not to be missed and there are lots of pretty market towns and idyllic seaside resorts to choose from for a day trip. Alternatively for a slower paced holiday you may wish to visit The Broads or Thetford Forest, these areas are particularly popular for boating and spotting birdlife.
