Description

Within the beautiful elevated countryside of Llanfair Caereinion in Wales lies this classic farmhouse property, Squires Rest, hosting eleven bedrooms it is a wonderful retreat for large groups and families, enjoying views out to the beautiful rolling fields with cattle and sheep grazing within this working farm setting.

Enter through the side entrance and into the porch area, kick off your boots opposite to the ground-floor cloakroom, coming straight into the kitchen/diner where you will be immediately drawn to the Range cooker set within the huge inglenook fireplace, a traditional feature contrasting wonderfully with the contemporary fitted kitchen and wide range of appliances.

Find some worktop space and offer a helping hand with the evening meal prep, or simply oversee the activity from the breakfast bar preferably with a glass of wine in hand!

Next door a utility room holds even more appliances to ensure your holiday is a breeze including a washing machine, tumble dryer and an extra dishwasher.

Serve up a celebratory meal within the dining room, even if you’re just celebrating being in each other’s company, with two large dining tables hosting a seat for everyone, tuck into your hearty meal as the woodburning stove roars away.

Over in the sitting room, sit back on the vibrant red corner sofa, a modern twist within this vintage abode, while you gaze out of the huge bay window to the fields beyond, relax with a book or simply gather around to catch up on what’s new.

Tucked away down a hidden staircase you will find the cellar, but unlike any cellar you’ve seen, this is a gorgeous and snug lounge room, complete with a TV mounted on the wall, plenty of seating to nestle in, and radiators to heat it, all atop classic patterned carpet and below exposed timber beams.

When you want some much-needed rest to re-energise for another fun-filled day, choose from one of the eight bedrooms in the main house, with five on the first floor including a four-poster king-size bedroom with its Jack-and-Jill access to the en-suite shower room leading to a twin room, another twin, another four-poster king-size and a king-size with an en-suite shower room, along with a large bathroom on this floor too.

Up on the second floor, there are two king-size rooms, one with an en-suite shower room, and a twin room, along with a shower room with a separate basin and WC.

All of the bedrooms enjoy wonderful and classic décor, with dressing tables, antique furniture and some rooms featuring elegant chaise lounges, this property has been brought back to life in the most authentic way possible.

Choose to relax out on the patio seating on a warm summer afternoon before taking a dip in one of the two wood-fired hot tub, a perfect way to truly relax with your loved ones amidst.

A fantastic feature of this property is the games room, once a farm outbuilding now renovated to be a fully insulated and heated space with spotlights in the ceiling looking down on the full size snooker table, as well as a darts board, boxing bag, plush seating, wall-mounted TV and table for board games.

Within the cottage attached to the main house you can find a charming and traditional interior, showcasing lovely features like exposed timber frames and beams, and red brick walls creating a rustic character.

A perfect spot for the older generation of the group like grandparents, or a family with little ones, who want somewhere quiet to settle away from the rest.

A woodburning stove sits within the inglenook fireplace keeping you warm on a colder evening as you settle into the leather sofa or one of the armchairs, while dinner cooks in the kitchen area which hosts its own range of appliances, even including a small dishwasher and a utility room.

Head upstairs to the first floor to find two double rooms both of which benefit from an en-suite shower room, while a third and final double room can be found on the second floor within the eaves, opposite a spacious bathroom.

For a great family day out in the area, hop onto the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway, originally opened in 1903, this 2 foot 6-inch narrow gauge railway now offers a great tourist attraction offering a different way to see the lush scenery of Wales via the contours of the countryside.

Marvel at another magnificent property, Powis Castle and Garden, a medieval masterpiece rising dramatically above the wonderfully landscaped garden, it offers a fabulous day out full of exploring for any age to enjoy.

Within driving distance of many other attractions including Snowdonia National Park and Shropshire Hills AONB, Garth Llwyd has so much to offer, you and your loved ones will enjoy a wonderful holiday here, creating special memories to last a lifetime.
