With an indoor swimming pool, games room, gym and sauna, this popular Georgian Mansion on the scenic west coast entertains all ages, inside and out.

Standing in six acres of mature grounds on the magnificent Ardgour peninsula, this stately Georgian mansion is the perfect location to explore the untouched landscape of the Scottish Highlands, with its breathtaking scenery set close to Loch Linnhe. Ideal for large gatherings of friends and family, this "basic but comfortable" large holiday house proves to be ever popular with group after group.

Inside there are many rooms, as you would expect from a house this size, including at ground level, a sitting room, a snooker room with full size table, a games room with table tennis table, a fitness room, indoor heated swimming pool with sauna, kitchen and dining room. This large dining room provides seating for all twenty two guests and is perfect for luxurious evening feasts. The large drawing room with open fire is on the first floor and is the focal point for the group to gather and plan the day ahead. Whilst there is one twin bedroom on the ground floor, the rest of the accommodation can be found on the first and second floors. It is a comfortable holiday house ideal for large groups, with the bonus of having an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, gym, snooker room and games room offering entertainment for all weathers.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA

The Lochaber area is known as the “outdoor capital of the Highlands”, due to the geography of this region and has become a huge hit for mountain bikers, climbers, canoeists and walkers. The Nevis Range Mountain resort is a year round experience and has ski and snowboarding, high wire experiences, forest walks, mountain climbing, mountain biking tracks, family cycling tracks, and paragliding. In fact everything a family could choose from on holiday. For those wishing to fish, loch and sea fishing is available. Fort William has many shops and restaurants, as well as the Ben Nevis Distillery and for golfers there is an excellent 18-hole golf course. The area is also rich in historical sites, with the Commando Monument nearby and superb tourist day trips for your group to arrange to Glenfinnan, Arisaig, Oban, Loch Ness and Caledonian Canal. As well as island trips to the islands of Mull, Coll and Iona.

For those flying into Scotland, the closest airport to this property is Inverness 78 miles away, with Glasgow airport 111 miles away and hiring a car or 4WD couldn’t be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies within walking distance of the arrivals terminal at both airports.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.

The Corran Ferry provides access from Nether Lochaber to Ardgour across Loch Linnhe and the actual journey time takes between 2 – 5 minutes. The house is 5 minutes on from the ferry crossing point. Run by Caledonian MacBrayne (www.calmac.co.uk ) the ferry runs continuously back and forth from 6.30am until 9.30pm, Monday– Saturday and 8.30am until 9.30pm on Sunday, subject to summer and winter timetables. (In the event of missing the last ferry there is an alternative road route via Fort William which adds about an hour to the journey). Please check details of cost and times before travelling.

Trains these days can also be an extremely accessible and pleasurable means of transport into Scotland for individuals and groups alike. All the major railway stations have car hire companies located in situ, enabling the transition from carriage to car to be as stress free as possible. The sleeper train can be caught from London to Fort William, the closest train station to the property, which takes approximately twelve and a half hours and car hire can be easily arranged for your arrival.
