This commanding castle, within its own private estate of 1,200 acres, on the east coast of Scotland, has this delightful second floor apartment available for holiday letting. This apartment is being made available for weekly or weekend rentals for up to 6 people.

Once past the electronic gate, there is a mile of drive before arriving at the castle, where there is designated parking for the apartment. Accessed by a separate internal staircase, this beautifully refurbished apartment can be found on the second floor of this breathtaking castle. All the rooms are tastefully furnished in keeping with the period of the castle and are brimming with antiques and finery. The sitting room is a comfortable room, with an open fire, and is situated within one of the corners of the castle, with a cosy alcove within one of the turrets. There is a well equipped kitchen and a delightful dining room. Whilst this apartment can be rented at a higher price for more people, on this basis for 6 people, only 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are being made available at this reduced price. Three bedrooms from the choice of two double bedrooms and two twin bedroom can be chosen, depending on your requirement. (Please note that a further reduced price is available for 4 people, using 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms only - see office for details). There is access to the estate and grounds, as well as the communal tennis court. The river South Esk, meanders through the estate providing five miles of double bank fishing and details can be provided to book this as extra, once the accommodation has been booked. This apartment provides a wonderful castle experience for all those who have stayed and once been, never forgotten.

WHAT TO DO IN THE AREA
The five Angus glens are a haven for hill walkers, with Glen Isla, Glen Prosen, Glen Lethnot, Glen Esk and Glen Clova to choose from. The Angus coastline offers sandy beaches, with the highlights being Lunan Bay and St Cyrus. For golfers, the championship course of Carnoustie is nearby, with the courses of Forfar and Montrose closer at hand. For those seeking city-life, the bustling city of Dundee is only a short drive, or further afield is Aberdeen. Fettercairn Distillery will be a joy for any Scotch Whisky enthusiast, whilst paintballing at Edzell will offer hours of entertainment.

Use of a car is advisable to fully enjoy the local surrounds.

For those flying into Scotland, the closest airports to this property are Dundee 30 miles away and Aberdeen 48 miles away and hiring a car or 4WD couldn’t be more convenient if you are choosing to travel by air. There are a variety of well known car rental companies that will provide car hire at either airport for your arrival.

If you are driving into Scotland from the south, the major arterial motorway into Scotland, the M74, although busy is generally free flowing.

The closest station to the castle is Montrose, approximately 10 minutes drive away. This station is on the East coast mainline that runs between London and Aberdeen which takes approximately six and a half hours.
