The county town is Llangefni, located centrally, on the banks of the river Cefni, the attractive town is a beautiful tourist spot. Beaumaris is home to Edward I’s impressive moated fortification Beaumaris Castle, and there are a number of other notable buildings worth visiting in the town. Anglesey is also home to the village with the longest name in Europe. Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch was given this rather extended version of its original name as an early example of a publicity stunt to attract visitors!
