Peebleshire is very traditional of the Scottish Borders, enjoying beautifull hillsides, lush forests and glorious glens. Peebles is an attractive victorian town, set on the River Tweed, and Innerleithen is worth a visit too. Visit nearby Traquair House, a popular day out for all the family, or Dawyck Botanical Gardens, a beautiful setting for wildlife and nature enthusiasts.

The genteel and attractive town of Peebles is located on the River Tweed and is a beautiful day out. Nearby Traquair House is a fun filled family day out.

The beautiful house is brimming with history, and the kids will love the expansive grounds, that include a playground and maze.  Innerleithen, found in a beautiful valley location and is home to the subject of Sir Walter Scotts novel, St Ronan Well. The town is also famous for being the location of the annual Border Games.  

For activities for the older kids, (and adults too!) try Go Ape at Glentress, or for more demure activities the Dawyck Botanical Gardens are a beautiful setting for a gentle stroll,  showcasing an abundance of wildlife and impressive botany.
