The small and attractive village of Dunvegan is situated on the western side of the Isle of Skye. Enjoying the beautiful aspect of the Dunvegan Loch, this is a popular stop with visitors to the island. Its biggest attraction is the striking Dunvegan Castle. Perched on the rocks at the edge of the Loch, the castle has been the ancestral seat of the Clan MacLeod for 800 years, and is home to a fascinating range of treasures collected by the family. The unique gardens are a little gem in the otherwise rugged landscapes of the isle. Developed in the 18th Century, and offering a fantastic range of features including a water garden, woodlands and a formal garden, they are a beautiful place to enjoy.
