Description

Resting on the outskirts of Bolton-by-Bowland in the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is this sizeable country house, Laneside Farm. This grade two listed building is set over two floors and comfortably sleeps ten guests. Laneside Farm is a traditional and well-presented home for your next North Yorkshire group adventure, within easy reach of the Trough of Bowland, Ribble Valley and Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is set amongst acres of open farmland and countryside, making for a perfect rural retreat offering unspoilt views from every room. A woodland track leads you to the property, over a stepping stone walkway through the large established gardens and up to the front door, where you step into a handy porch to leave any coats and shoes. There is a large kitchen/diner, with a marble topped island, a woodburning stove, a gas range, a large three seater sofa and a door out to the garden. This area is ideal for preparing tasty meals for a large group, then settling down round a table and chairs to catch up on the day. Back through the hallway there is a sitting room, where another woodburning stove takes centre stage and you can unwind by the fire, in front of the TV on the corner sofa. Next door is a snug with another corner sofa, designed to enjoy a separate space and different TV shows from the main sitting area. On the ground floor, there is also a boot room with hanging space, and with its gorgeous feature fireplace, table and two chairs it’s perfect for a quieter evening meal or a meeting. Up the galleried grand black staircase are five king size bedrooms. The first bedroom houses a king size sleigh bed with ample wardrobes for unpacking your personal belongings, and a desk with two chairs. There is another king-size double room with a single desk and a wardrobe, followed by the master king-size room that hosts the property's balcony, looking out onto the large gardens, a table with two chairs and an en-suite bathroom with shower over, basin, heated towel rail and WC. At the far end there are two further king size bedrooms sharing a Jack-and-Jill bathroom which hosts a freestanding bath with shower over, basin, heated towel rail and WC. In the beautiful family marble tiled bathroom there is a freestanding bath, double shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC. Outside there are large enclosed lawns, complemented by generous patios that host two seating areas, ideal for taking your dining experience outdoors to the large table or to the smaller separate seating area by the barbecue and fire pit. The idyllic village of Bolton-by-Bowland has a village store post office for any essentials, as well as the renowned Coach and Horse's pub serving real ales and award winning food. A short car journey away is Settle, a bustling market town with a weekly market, the centre being dominated by the Shambles, a historic three-storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall. Nearby is at the famous railway station which provides access to the Settle-to Carlisle line, which crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Further afar, you will find Skipton which is home to a medieval castle and is known as the 'Gateway to the Dales', you will have an abundance of things to do in the town centre, before a unique experience exploring the marvelous Yorkshire Dales, by foot or bike.
