Description

The Property is located just off the centre of Brixham Town, a short walk along to the harbour front and find yourself in the thick of the town. Brixham is full of history and is still to this day a working town and one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK. The town is unique and offers some great attractions like the Golden Hind, Fishcombe Cove and Berry Head for you to visit whilst you are here. The food is fantastic and really make the most of the local fish caught that day at the Fish Market! Foodies will love this place!

The Property is a property that offers everything you could need for your holiday, close proximity to the town, private parking, garage, electric car charging point and ample space for all the family. On the ground floor is a bathroom, a super king bedroom (unzipped for 2 single beds when requested) and there is a door that leads to the outdoor patio area. On the first floor is the double bedroom with ensuite and the open plan kitchen/lounge/diner at the front of the property looking out the sea through the gap between the buildings opposite. On the second floor is a family bathroom and this leads into the family suite bedroom with super king bed (unzipped to 2 single beds when requested) and an additional two single beds with glorious views overlooking the sea and out towards Torquay is the distance. The property gets its name as the old ice factory was based across the road in the 60's.

Guestbook

Could not have had a more enjoyable stay at the Old Ice House. The property is well appointed and very stylishly decorated, while being very comfortable. We had the middle bedroom and the bed provided a very good nights sleep. Perfectly positioned with harbour views, you are 5 minutes from numerous good restaurants. There is also a great fishmonger - a hole-in-the-wall on a pathway towards Battery Gardens http://www.davidwalkerandson.com/ - super fresh fish for cooking on the bbq or taking home (they will vacuum pack it for you). Hard to pick a best moment, but sitting at the Battery Park cafe (check opening times!) with coffee and cake, taking in the view, high on the list! - Amanda -
"Absolutely gorgeous! Beautiful views over the marina, we’ll decorated, everything you need! We had 2 Range Rovers and they both fit on the drive which was brilliant. The beds were really comfy and the location was perfect! We loved it, we’ll definitely be back :) thanks for a great stay!" Emma J
"Perfect Property in a Perfect Location. Loved loved loved our stay here. The house is right at the heart of Brixham - a short walk to the beach and some lovely restaurants (Simply Fish and Albero were our favourites). There are some lovely coastal walks too - we didn't need the car whilst were there (just left it in the garage the whole time). Can definitely recommend the walk to Berry Head (fantastic views and very peaceful) and if you are up for a longer walk you can walk the coastal route all the way to Torquay (top tip - walk there and bus back!). Our thirteen year old daughter loved meeting Bob the seal at the breakwater and crabbing at the harbour too. The house itself is very clean and tidy and has plenty of room for two families - we took the top floor room with it's access out onto the sunny terrace at the back and view of the harbour at the front (albeit in the distance). We can't really comment too much on the kitchen facilities as we didn't cook during our stay (way too many lovely places to eat nearby!). There is a yard area at the ground level which we found was great for drying out our wet suits and SUP. We will definitely be back! "
