Inviting Family Retreat, Cemaes Bay

Ty Lawr is a delightful detached fisherman's cottage standing in a perfect location right on the waterfront overlooking the pretty harbour and sandy Blue Flag beach of Cemaes Bay, perfect for family fun and watersports. This spacious Anglesey cottage has a lovely fresh modern feel. Cemaes Bay is on the north coast of Anglesey, 13 miles from Moelfre, 17 miles from Holyhead and 25 miles to the main land giving access to the Snowdonia National Park.

The gorgeous coastal cottage has a stylish interior including a generous open-plan living area with spacious kitchen - the focal point of the cottage - leading onto the large sun terrace with stunning waterfront views. The lounge has oak flooring, leather sofas and chairs, CD player, TV with digital receiver, DVD, iPod dock and WiFi. The dining area has a wooden table with seating for eight. The kitchen is fitted with granite worktops and large breakfast island and bar stools, electric double oven, six-ring gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher. There is a ground floor cloakroom with WC and basin.

All four good sized bedrooms are ensuite; the ground floor twin bedroom has French windows opening onto the patio and an en suite shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. There are a further three bedrooms upstairs, all with a TV. The king size bedroom has an en suite bathroom with bath, large walk-in shower, basin and WC, and doors to a glass panel balcony. There is a double bedroom, also with doors to a balcony, with an en suite large walk-in shower, basin and WC. The third bedroom has twin beds and an en suite shower room with WC and basin.

Guests at Ty Lawr can enjoy the fantastic views across the harbour, beach and sea from a large sun terrace with outside table and chairs. There is gated private parking for three cars or a boat and there is a small launch slipway ideal for sail boats or kayaks next to the cottage. There is a lot to explore in the area which has a rich maritime and industrial heritage, nearby Amlwch has Copper Kingdom where you can explore what was once one of the largest copper mines in the world. There are a variety of superb beaches to suit all tastes and the coastal path down this coast is truly stunning. A short drive takes you to Holyhead, with regular day ferries over to Ireland, and the spectacular RSPB reserve at South Stack. The Snowdonia National Park can be reached in approx. 30 miles.

LocationNorth Wales

North Wales showcases some of the UK's most varied landscape, from the snow-capped mountains of Snowdonia to the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula. Indeed, it is one of the only parts of Britain where you can be in the mountains in the morning and at the seaside by the afternoon. The diverse animal life of the region reflects this, with everything from otters to ospreys and seals to dolphins.

Not many places are imbued with such history and heritage, which is reflected throughout the region from cottages to castles! Attractions abound, with zoos and farms, steam railways and activity centres. There are regular events from international cultural festivals and shows to family fun days.

The area also offers a huge range of outdoor activities; walking, cycling, fishing, golf and water-sports to name only a few. In many parts of North Wales the spoken language is Welsh, not English, although people who cannot or will not speak the latter are rare, and signposts and other notices always display their message in both languages.
