Comfortable Big Cottage, near Pwllheli (WAG563WA)

The Property is a delightful, former Sea Captain's house in the heart of the small village of Nefyn. With its own beach hut, complete with gas stove, picnic table and beach chairs (available during the main summer season) at Nefyn beach, just a short 10 minute walk away, and a cosy woodburning stove in the lounge, this is the perfect place for a holiday whatever the weather. Morfa Nefyn 1.6 miles, Abersoch 12 miles and Caernarfon 20 miles.

This property is spread over three floors. The dual aspect lounge has wooden flooring and comfortable seating along with a multi-fuel stove, electric keyboard, Freeview TV/DVD, and WiFi. The spacious ground floor kitchen diner has modern kitchen units including a dishwasher, along with a large table and chairs. A separate utility room houses the washing machine, tumble dryer and 'Sheila maid' pull-up drying rack, handy for drying all the beach kit! The ground floor also has a shower room and toilet. There are four good sized bedrooms; a king size with an en suite shower room, a twin and a pretty double on the first floor; another double and a cot on the spacious top floor under the eaves. There is a further bathroom with bath and shower on the first floor. Outside is private parking for two cars alongside the house and a lawned garden with seating.

Nefyn village has small shops, pubs, restaurants and a post office all within walking distance. The stunning beach is a stroll away and backed by a line of picturesque tidal beach huts. The pretty colourful hut that comes with the property is an absolute delight, but note that this is removed at the end of the summer season depending on the weather and tides. Nearby Porth Dinllaen is looked after by the National Trust and is famous for its rich and fascinating history as a fishing port and for the spectacularly placed Ty Coch pub. The sheltered bay is ideal for watersports and observing the rich marine wildlife. The coastal path offers spectacular walking along this part of the coast. Further afield are the popular resorts of Abersoch and Pwllheli, whilst a visit to the historic Caernarfon castle and the Snowdonia National Park should be on everyone's holiday tick list.

Please note that, due to adverse weather conditions and higher tides, the beach hut is removed at the end of the main summer season

LocationNorth Wales

North Wales showcases some of the UK's most varied landscape, from the snow-capped mountains of Snowdonia to the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula. Indeed, it is one of the only parts of Britain where you can be in the mountains in the morning and at the seaside by the afternoon. The diverse animal life of the region reflects this, with everything from otters to ospreys and seals to dolphins.

Not many places are imbued with such history and heritage, which is reflected throughout the region from cottages to castles! Attractions abound, with zoos and farms, steam railways and activity centres. There are regular events from international cultural festivals and shows to family fun days.

The area also offers a huge range of outdoor activities; walking, cycling, fishing, golf and water-sports to name only a few. In many parts of North Wales the spoken language is Welsh, not English, although people who cannot or will not speak the latter are rare, and signposts and other notices always display their message in both languages.
