Although a relatively small country, Wales really does have something for everyone whether the visit is for a relaxing family break by the seaside, a walking holiday or an action packed trip of outdoor pursuits. You are never too far from one of over 600 castles and the region boasts 800 miles of coastline to explore. The vast national parks include Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire and the famous Snowdonia mountains.
There is a great travel network with many UK centres being only a few hours by car or rail so Wales is perfect even just for a weekend visit or a last minute holiday. The capital city Cardiff is a hot spot for culture and shopping, the bay features an impressive harbour with water activities available including the white water rafting centre and sailing clubs.
The mountain ranges and beaches are popular qualities of Wales, but less well known are the huge caverns with zip wires, the colourful Italian themed Portmeirion village and the fact that Wales has two of only ten worldwide dark sky sites.
