Oakdene Country House is a detached Victorian former mill owner's house sitting on the outskirts of Sedbergh, an attractive old market town with its old world atmosphere.

Not only is it set in the magnificent western dales of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, but is also close to the rugged eastern fells of the Lake District.

Sleeping 23 guests across eleven bedrooms, 10 with en-suites plus a large house wet room bathroom, Oakdene Country House is the perfect choice for your next long-awaited family gathering.

Easily the heart of the home, the Drawing room holds a real sense of grandeur, with the whole house decorated and styled by an interior designer, you can relax in here amidst your loved ones on the inviting sofas and soft seating while the fire blazes in the wood burning stove, a perfect way to end an amazing day.

Enjoy celebrations and family meals within the huge kitchen/dinning room, with two long dining tables to gather around and make your toasts, as well as a sleek, contemporary fitted kitchen providing all of three electric ovens, two induction hobs, two dishwashers, two wine chillers and a washing/drying machine amongst the excellent offering of appliances.

Relish relaxing moments within the Morning Room if you want time away from the excitement of the group, with lavish armchairs facing towards the window, looking down mature gardens towards the pond enticing you to soak up the views.

Plan a movie night to be enjoyed in the cinema room, with a large U-shaped sofa to sink into while your chosen film plays on the 64" TV and soundbar.

Follow the stairs down to the lower ground floor where more wonder awaits; discover the snooker room, with a full-size snooker table providing endless evening fun.

Each guest will be delighted with a luxurious sleeping spot, with six bedrooms resting on the first floor of the main house, and five more bedrooms found in the adjoining annexe, 10 boasting en-suite facilities and one a large house wet room bathroom.

All rooms enjoy names relating to the fells and hills that their windows face.

Parents with younger children will be delighted with Holme Knott, thanks to it hosting a super-king-size bed and a double sofa bed which is perfect for two children under ten, whilst Winder also has a super-king-size and a single sofa bed, both found in the main house.

Also in the main house; Baugh Fell, Crook and Rise Fell each offer a super-king-size bed, whilst Frostrow is a lovely single.

Over in the annexe, there are three ground-floor bedrooms including a super-king-size which can be a twin on request with zip/link beds, and two twin rooms, whilst the first floor holds a further super-king-size and a family room with four single beds, all with en-suite bathrooms aside from the family room which is served by the large house wet room bathroom.

If you can tear yourself away from this magnificent property, take an easy stroll through the countryside into the charming old market town of Sedbergh and delight in exploring the fabulous quaint, loca shops, traditional pubs amongst its narrow streets.

This area is truly a walkers paradise, with Oakdene House being just a stone's throw away from the Dales Way, a walking route taking you into the heart of this beloved national park, follow the route down to Dent, another charming town which lies at the foot of Whernside.

Embark on a hike up this stunning peak and experience incredible views of the famous Ribblehead Viaduct, with Aye Gill Pike being another nearby fell to tackle.

Hop on the Settle-Carlisle Railway for a wonderful way to experience the scenery, with a station in Dent, you can stop off in various places to see the local attractions up close like Appleby Castle in Appleby, The Folly Museum of North Craven Life in Settle and Skipton Castle in Skipton.

Venture over towards the Lake District and stop at Kendal to visit Kendal Castle and Kendal Museum, before embarking on walks and adventures within Cumbria's national park, home to England's largest natural body of water, Lake Windermere.
