Reflections, near Looe

Reflections is a large and luxurious seafront property in the exclusive Hannafore area of Looe. Less than 20 metres from the shore, Reflections directly overlooks St George's Island, a nature reserve owned by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. Hannafore beach with its mixture of rocky pools and pockets of soft sand is perfect for families who want to relax in the sun and watch the wildlife - sightings of seals, dolphins, herons, oyster catchers and egrets are common here. The Hannafore Point Hotel is located within a 5 minute walk and is open to non-residents wishing to use all the facilities, such as the pool, gym and sauna (at extra cost). There are nearby tennis courts, pitch and putt, bowling, boules and wonderful coastal walks. The South West Coast Path meanders through Looe and on to Talland Bay, Polperro and beyond and the coastal scenery is spectacular. Looe offers many boat trips, including fishing trips where you can take home your own catch, speed boat rides, glass bottom boat excursions and coastal cruises, all bookable from the harbour less than 10 minutes' walk away. From the Quay a short boat taxi across to East Looe (50p, tide permitting) offers a long sandy beach, many bars, shops and restaurants, gift shops and art galleries. For days out, both the acclaimed Eden Project and Plymouth are within 40 minutes' drive, and the Cornish city of Truro is just over an hour away. With uninterrupted views of St George's Island (or Looe Island as the locals like to call it) Reflections is a beautifully furnished and well-equipped holiday home for up to 9 people. Spacious and recently updated, the house comprises a large sunny kitchen with separate utility room, a charming and sociable open plan lounge/diner with beautiful views, squashy sofas, and a cosy woodburner. A second lounge or games room has plenty to keep all ages entertained with Nintendo Wii, games, books, dressing up box, and table football. Upstairs three of four bedrooms offer spectacular views of the island and out to sea. Outside there is a large private Mediterranean style courtyard with patio furniture and a barbecue ideal for eating al fresco. To the front of the property there is a large raised sun terrace and decked area with seating, perfect for soaking up the magnificent views. There is plenty of boat storage space on the driveway, or safe storage to the rear of the property for bicycles, canoes or other water sports equipment.

Games room with TV, DVD, Nintendo Wii, toys, games, table football, books, dressing-up box, desk. Kitchen/breakfast room with gas hob, large oven, separate single oven, separate grill, dishwasher. Utility room off with microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, additional sink and patio doors leading to the private and enclosed courtyard. Cloakroom with WC and basin. Shower room with shower cubicle, WC and basin. First Floor: Bedroom 1 with King and Single, TV/DVD. Bedroom 2 with King, TV/DVD and ensuite shower room with shower, WC and basin. Bedroom 3 with Twin and TV/DVD. Family Bathroom with bath, separate shower, WC and basin. Second Floor: Accessed by steep loft-style stairs: Bedroom 4 with Twin (one is 2 foot 6" and one is a 3'), TV/DVD, ensuite cloakroom with WC and basin.

Looe is a picture perfect coastal town; divided by the river East Looe has a traditional fishing harbour and a wide variety of shops, cafes and a large sandy beach. West Looe also has many restaurants to choose from, and visitors can walk right up to the Hannafore Point which has lovely views of the sea and Looe Island.

Less than 5 miles away is Polperro, another beautiful and unspoilt fishing village which has a Heritage Centre of Smuggling & Fishing and several traditional pubs along the waterfront. From both these harbours there are regular fishing trips available out to sea and boat trips across to Looe Island which is a beautiful nature reserve. This is a haven for local wildlife and there are organised guided walks where visitors can spot seals and seabirds.

This is a perfect location for walks along the South Coast, and with easy reach of Looe are the sandy beaches of Plaidy & Millendreath. The Looe golf club just outside of the town has stunning panoramic views of the coastline. Just on the sea front of East Looe is the towns Guildhall Museum which displays much of the ports ancient smuggling and boat building history.

A fantastic day out is the Monkey Sanctuary in St Martins, as well as being a home to rescued monkeys the centre also has a bat and wildlife room and gardens. The Looe Valley railway is a lovely scenic line which follows along the East Looe River.

This region is mostly rural so is perfect to escape the everyday hustle and bustle, whether relaxing with the family by the seaside or exploring the wild moors and rugged coastline. The area boasts hundreds of beautiful sandy bays to choose from and fantastic surfing opportunities. The historic cities of Exeter, Bath and Gloucester are definitely worth a visit, and with transport links all the way down to Penzance even the famous Lands End and remote Isles of Scilly can be reached.
