A colourful seaside resort with a packed programme of events and family attractions. The famous pier has a range of rides from the traditional waltzers and carousel to the more thrilling turbo coaster and wild river. To make the most of the beach and open sea views, ride the Volks Electric railway which runs from the aquarium along the coast to Black Rock. The coastal fortress at Newhaven has a recreated Blitz street and visitors can walk along the walls and view the guns and aviation exhibitions. The North Laine shopping area has over four hundred shops, cafes, pubs and entertainment venues. The Brighton Open Air Theatre hosts musical and drama productions.
In the heart of the Cultural Quarter is Brighton Dome which houses a theatre, the Corn Exchange and a concert hall. The museum and art gallery has a range of artefacts and exhibitions from local history to ancient Egypt. The Ghost Walks of Kemptown are a unique experience, located on the seafront is the Sea Life centre and cruises can also be booked from the Marina.
