Accommodation in detail

After parking in ample space for up to 6 cars you enter this contemporary residence and are drawn to the walls of glass overlooking Lake Windermere. Interestingly this property has two main entrances and yet we enter at the lower level into a mirrored entrance giving access to the reception rooms which have direct access to the terraced verandah overlooking the lake; the drawing room has a wall of glass gazing over the lake, with lots of space to relax admiring the views; the dining room is fit for any formal gathering again with that view and access to the terrace and then there is the conservatory also opening onto the terrace.

The kitchen has everything you may need wrapped up in granite and with a clever glass walkway directly into the conservatory. On this level is a useful utility room and a cloakroom and the property's 5th WC / wash basin and also on this level is a super king size suite overlooking the lake and with separate dressing room and en-suite luxurious bathroom. From the mirrored entrance a set of glass balustrade stairs leads to the glass entrance which even has a glass floor so watch what you are wearing when stood here!

On this level are 4 bedrooms each with panoramic lake views; the master super king suite boasts a glass balcony, a dressing room and en-suite luxurious bathroom; there are two further super king size bedrooms one of which has an en-suite bathroom and that leaves one twin bedroom as well as a fourth bathroom - there will be no fighting over hot water in this residence! The gardens outside are literally a profusion of colour and with lawn leading to the lake shores where you have a large private jetty (no road access), what a place to unwind! The gardens are lit and beautifully presented and not forgetting the slated and glazed terraced verandah - the perfect way to enjoy al-fresco living...with the added benefit of a gas fired barbequeue.

Bowness-on-Windermere is a popular Lake District holiday location, nestling on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere and alive with all the boating activities of Bowness Bay. If lucky enough to own your very own boat, why not bring it with you or if not hire one from many outlets during your stay at Yew Tree. Enjoy sophisticated shops, tempting cafes, excellent Lake District restaurants and cosy traditional pubs, or stroll to the pier to hop on a Windermere Lake Cruise to Ambleside or Lakeside - a lovely way to explore without even using your car.

Couples, families or groups of friends will find plenty of evening venues to explore - from the cosy and traditional 'Hole int Wall' to the trendy Bodega & Sol tapas bar. LocationCumbria & The Lake District

The rural county of Cumbria is one of the most attractive in England. It contains the whole of the area known as the Lake District, as well as the northern part of the Pennines mountain range and, somewhat counter-intuitively, a part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The county is replete with attractions for the visitor, its historic heritage ranging from houses and gardens to stone circles and activities ranging from walking and climbing to watersports and fishing. Cumbria's lakes, valleys and fells can loosely be broken down into eight areas.

The North Lakes are the most popular with the serious outdoor enthusiast and the South Lakes draw most of the holidaymakers. The Western Lakes are less busy but still hold some varied attractions and appeal to the walkers as well as families and groups. They are home to England's tallest mountain, known as Scafell Pike.

East Lakes has its quota of mountains too, including the well-known Helvellyn, and is a fairly quiet area. Visit the Eden Valley and North Pennine area for wilderness, castles and rural villages, or perhaps consider North and South Cumbria. In the former we find Hadrian's Wall and the city of Carlisle. In the latter, coastal resorts and the biggest town, Kendal. Finally, the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is a beautiful part of Cumbria with country pubs, easy walking, and a thriving arts scene.
