Accommodation in detail
Ample private parking right outside; entrance hall with cloakroom / 5th WC and access to the array of reception rooms. The substantial open plan kitchen / dining facility is an excellent place to entertain / relax or spread out in the conservatory / day room section or wander out onto the balcony. The kitchen has absolutely all you may need including a separate section we call the breakfast room with an Aga, said to be the heart of every home. We think you will agree this dining area is made for formal gatherings, good food, even better wine and conversations late into the night..The array of reception rooms carries on with the living room complete with warming woodburner and a wrap around leather sofa, twin sets of patio doors and a 50" plasma, what a great place to relax. There are two further sitting rooms, one also with 50" plasma, lots of space to segment your gatherings. A separate staircase takes you to the master king size suite complete with luxurious en-suite with double ended Jacuzzi bath and separate power shower cubicle. This room has an extended bay window where glimpses of Lake Windermere are seen and this room even has a 'pop-up' TV! A second staircase leads to three further bedrooms, two double bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms and a king size with Jacuzzi bath facility. A staircase from the conservatory leads down to a further double suite, this room has patio doors and a lounge area but must use the cloakroom on the ground floor and one of the 4 en-suite facilities. The enclosed garden and decked patio with terrace is a real sun trap.

LocationCumbria & The Lake District

The rural county of Cumbria is one of the most attractive in England. It contains the whole of the area known as the Lake District, as well as the northern part of the Pennines mountain range and, somewhat counter-intuitively, a part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The county is replete with attractions for the visitor, its historic heritage ranging from houses and gardens to stone circles and activities ranging from walking and climbing to watersports and fishing. Cumbria's lakes, valleys and fells can loosely be broken down into eight areas.

The North Lakes are the most popular with the serious outdoor enthusiast and the South Lakes draw most of the holidaymakers. The Western Lakes are less busy but still hold some varied attractions and appeal to the walkers as well as families and groups. They are home to England's tallest mountain, known as Scafell Pike.

East Lakes has its quota of mountains too, including the well-known Helvellyn, and is a fairly quiet area. Visit the Eden Valley and North Pennine area for wilderness, castles and rural villages, or perhaps consider North and South Cumbria. In the former we find Hadrian's Wall and the city of Carlisle. In the latter, coastal resorts and the biggest town, Kendal. Finally, the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is a beautiful part of Cumbria with country pubs, easy walking, and a thriving arts scene.
