The Property is situated in the sweet village of Underbarrow, on the edge of the Lyth Valley. This stunning property has been recently extended to create a suitable base for any occasion, Ellerbeck bridge prides itself on being finished to a high standard throughout, offering plenty of living space and beautiful views, you really do get the best of both worlds.

Complimenting the location of this property is the village pub, 'The Black Labrador' which is only a few minutes' walk down the road, there are also many other country pubs within driving distance. The Property has an excellent location, there are plenty of laid back country walks and it is also close to the market town of Kendal, or the foodie village of Cartmel, famous for Cartmel Races.

Accommodation In Detail

Accessible by a small lane, The Property sits at the end of a terrace of Cottages. On arrival at this property you will enter straight through the front door into the hallway, which then opens onto the snug/reading room consisting of sofas, an electric log fire, TV and doors leading to the patio. The Property also offers a great family kitchen and a handy utility area just off the kitchen which is great for storing outdoor gear and has a washer drier and American style fridge/freezer. You can also expect a lovely lounge/dining room along with oodles of outdoor space in the form of two patios and a terrace by the beck.

The garden has been professionally landscaped to incorporate two large patios, a backside terrace and lawned garden area. The front garden is made up of an alpine rockery and there is private parking for four cars. Beyond the garden there is native deciduous woodland that is a haven for wildlife including birds of all kinds, red squirrels, badger and deer.

Ascending the staircase to the first floor presents you with a landing leading to all upstairs rooms. Firstly there is a dual aspect master bedroom with king size beds and beautiful views across the valley. The second bedroom, complete with an ensuite walk in shower and boasts a king size double bed. Bedroom three presents matching oak twin beds and the last bedroom offers 3ft bunkbeds. All bedrooms are decorated to a high standard with matching oak furniture. The bathroom is equipped with a large feature bath, shower, basin and WC.

Look no further, this property is great year round. Away from the busier areas, but still only 20 minutes from Bowness, you'll find complete peace and relaxation in this beautiful rural area.
The Lyth Valley is located to the east of Lake Windermere, overlooked by famous Lake District walks on Scout Scar and Whitbarrow Scar. The sheltered valley is famous for its damson orchards, which give rise to gorgeous white blossom in spring.
The landscape is scattered with country homes and rural Lake District cottages, as well as a choice of several acclaimed Lake District country pubs, such as The Punch Bowl at Crosthwaite and the Masons Arms at Strawberry Bank. A romantic walk nearby is the ascent of Gummers How, which offers simply wonderful views of Lake Windermere from the top. The Cartmel Fell tarns walk is also a lovely afternoon's worth, starting at Bowland Bridge's historic church.

LocationCumbria & The Lake District

The rural county of Cumbria is one of the most attractive in England. It contains the whole of the area known as the Lake District, as well as the northern part of the Pennines mountain range and, somewhat counter-intuitively, a part of the Yorkshire Dales.

The county is replete with attractions for the visitor, its historic heritage ranging from houses and gardens to stone circles and activities ranging from walking and climbing to watersports and fishing. Cumbria's lakes, valleys and fells can loosely be broken down into eight areas.

The North Lakes are the most popular with the serious outdoor enthusiast and the South Lakes draw most of the holidaymakers. The Western Lakes are less busy but still hold some varied attractions and appeal to the walkers as well as families and groups. They are home to England's tallest mountain, known as Scafell Pike.

East Lakes has its quota of mountains too, including the well-known Helvellyn, and is a fairly quiet area. Visit the Eden Valley and North Pennine area for wilderness, castles and rural villages, or perhaps consider North and South Cumbria. In the former we find Hadrian's Wall and the city of Carlisle. In the latter, coastal resorts and the biggest town, Kendal. Finally, the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is a beautiful part of Cumbria with country pubs, easy walking, and a thriving arts scene.
